There’s something magical about how nature keeps us on our toes, surprising us when we least expect it. On our recent safari in Mombo, we hadn’t seen a leopard in the days we were there ... We’d started to lose hope, thinking we might leave without ever catching a glimpse of this elusive predator…. Let’s be real …When you go on a safari, you dream of seeing all the wildlife the bush has to offer right? But by the time we went to bed that night, we’d accepted that maybe it just wasn’t our time.
While we slept, the guides told us they heard a commotion in the distance, close to camp. They couldn’t be sure what it was, but it felt like the bush was alive with activity.
The next morning, we set off for our final game drive. And then, as if nature had planned it all along, there it was.A leopard, calm and majestic, resting under the shade of a tree, basking in the morning light. It was enjoying its fresh kill from the night before, completely unbothered by our presence.
It was a moment of pure wonder, a reminder of the magic that the wild holds.
