FRANCISTOWN NAMED AFTER DANIEL FRANCIS!
Francistown was named after Daniel Francis.Francis was one of the Founding directors of Tati Concesssion which virtually owned all the land there.A little is known about him.He only came to then town as a gold prospector and gave his name to the town.He retired to England in about 1890 and died in 1920 aged 80.
