Ever heard the term ‘crocodile tears’? There’s an age-old myth that crocodiles cry when devouring their prey. And while technically crocodiles have glands that can produce tears, it’s not actually considered crying. Whilst eating, the crocodile swallows too much air which impacts with the lachrymal gland and forces tears to flow.

Last week along with Leon Safaris undertook a trip to Savuti in the search for the famous male Lion to see how he has made his mark in his territory. Sekoti famed by his cut tail, is an up and coming male lion in search of a territory to claim but is held back by his fathers who suppress his progress in the pride.

A not so happy lion cub in savuti complains to mom for more milk.

Between 8 to 10 months a cub will stop nursing and will rely solely on meat. This is the time for them to learn the invaluable skills of hunting.
