The new tented camp ,Mbamba, brought to you by the Uncharted Africa team in the private NG12 concession in northern Okavango Delta, is where your wildlife adventure awaits. Mokolwane is a small, relaxed camp in one of the largest, and almost untouched, parts of the Okavango Delta. Set amongst a sprinkling of Mokolwane palms, in the Xudum concession (NG29), you’ll find it tucked away in 180 000-hectares of wilderness. Teeming with herds of elephant and all the Okavango predators, with so much space and so much action, it’s no surprise that National Geographic and Netflix filmmaker Brad Bestelink has chosen to base himself here. This is leopard country. These territorial cats love it here so much, that the area boasts the third highest density recorded anywhere in Africa. Mokolwane is a special little camp, big on adventure. And being the only camp for miles around, a great place to breath in the stillness and solitude.

Kala Camp accommodates 14 guests in 7 light, airy and spacious traditional tents. The tents are tastefully furnished with comfort in mind and each have extra length beds, super-sized mosquito net, desk, seating, fan, lights and handy plug points. The bathrooms are all en-suite and have a shower, wash basin and toilet. Each tent has its own verandah from which to enjoy the magnificent sunsets and breath-taking views.

Kala Camp

Xugana Lagoon is widely recognised as the most spectacular permanent water site in the entire Okavango Delta, which itself is Africa’s largest and most awe-inspiring oasis. The Okavango River rises in the highlands of Angola yet never reaches the sea; instead its immense waters empty over the sands of the Kalahari, where the great thirst of the desert is quenched in a wilderness of freshwater lagoons, channels and islands.

MmaTsebe Tented Camp is located within a secluded private position of 25 hectares in Khwai along the Mbudi River. 30 minutes’ game drive from North Gate Moremi Game Reserve, 30 minutes’ game drive from Khwai airstrip, and 3.5 hours drive from Maun. The popular game rich area of Khwai shares borders with Chobe National Park, Savuti and Moremi Game Reserve, MmaTsebe Tented Camp therefore has easy access to these iconic game locations in Northern Botswana.

NEW CAMP ALERT: MAY 2024

Karangoma is located on the north-eastern arm of the Okavango Delta, virtually at the centre of the vast KAZA Transfrontier Park that overlaps parts of Botswana, Namibia, Angola, Zambia and Zimbabwe. At more than 500 square kilometres in size, KAZA is larger in area than the state of California and almost the size of France. The camp’s location at a strategic and pivotal overlap between the waters of the Okavango and the vast northern woodlands means that it boasts an unusually wide array of habitats, large mammal species and guest activities in a focused area.

Access to the camp is by air, first by fixed wing light aircraft from Maun to the Vumbura Airstrip (130km; 25 minute flight), and then followed by a low level helicopter flight (30km; 10-12 minute flight) directly into Karangoma camp.
