Stronger Together: The Heartbeat of Africa Culture Journeys 🌿

Every safari, every moment and every smile is powered by one thing — teamwork.

It’s not just about working together. It’s about sharing purpose, respecting each other and building journeys that leave a lasting impact. From setting up camp to guiding through Botswana’s breathtaking wilderness, our team moves as one.

We live by our values:
✅ Everyone Respects Everyone – We honour the land, our guests, the wildlife and each other.
✅ Happy To Be Here – We bring joy, passion and positive energy to every safari moment.
✅ Commitment & Accountability – We deliver what we promise and support each other, always.

When one of us wins, we all win. When a guest smiles, it’s our shared victory.

This is what makes ACJ more than a safari company — it’s a family, a purpose, a journey of connection.

Come experience safaris where teamwork, community and respect are always at the core. 🇧🇼✨

Get to know our team! Listen to our Cedric share some of his story in Setswana:

I am Cedric, I live in Maun. I work with Africa Culture Journeys as a driver and Camp assistant. I started working in Safari in 2018 and was attracted by conversations about conservation. The challenges we face mainly would be roads during rainy season otherwise we experiance a very serene work environment and sharing of cultures and old practices.

📍From the hands of elders to the hands of travelers — this is Botswana, woven with love.

These baskets aren’t just art, they are history, economy and identity, passed from grandmother to granddaughter, from memory to market.

Made from the hardy Mokola palm, Ngamiland baskets are crafted using the coil method, a technique mastered by Hambukushu and Bayei women. Using a sharpened tool called lemao, they weave symbols of nature, raindrops, rivers, stars and the rhythms of the Okavango Delta, into every curve.

The designs aren’t random. They carry meaning. They tell stories.

For decades, this sacred art has fed families, educated children and empowered communities. What began as household utility has evolved into a sustainable craft economy, with some pieces traveling far across oceans — displayed in galleries, museums and modern homes.

Organizations continue to preserve this heritage by training new weavers, promoting eco-friendly harvesting and giving rural women access to local and global markets.

Yet, challenges remain, access to palm, the pressures of tourism and the need to balance growth with sustainability.

Africa Culture Journeys recognises that art is not just what we see, it's what we live. These baskets carry the soul of the North. And when you journey with us, you meet the women behind the weave.

You hear their stories.
You support their craft.
You become part of their legacy.

On this day, eight years ago - one of Botswana's founding fathers Sir Ketumile Quett Joni Masire, passed away.

He would have been 100 years old next month.

He rose from an ordinary farming background to become the second and longest-serving President of Botswana.

When the world thinks of safari, Botswana is increasingly at the top, and for good reason. This is where nature still speaks in its purest voice, where the wilderness is raw, vast and deeply protected.

From the shimmering channels of the Okavango Delta to the sweeping silence of the Kalahari Desert, Botswana has perfected the art of low-density, high-quality safari travel. Here, you'll never be surrounded by crowds, only by the sounds of wildlife, the rustle of trees and the stillness of something greater.

Africa Culture Journeys offers more than just game drives. We give you the chance to immerse yourself in Botswana’s soul, its landscapes, its people and its traditions. Walk through cultural villages. Witness craft being passed down through generations. Share stories around the fire. And understand that true travel doesn’t just entertain, it connects.

Botswana’s commitment to sustainability, conservation and cultural preservation makes it not only the best safari destination in Africa but also one of the most meaningful.
