Our whole team learnt so much from her, including how to rebuild elephant and giraffe skeletons 🐘🦒👏🏼

⭐️ MEET KB ⭐️

KB, who comes from the Western side of the Delta, is our resident horse safari guide on our Cha Cha Metsi rides. He first worked for us from 2009-2013 before pursuing his own dreams. We were ecstatic when he rejoined our team earlier this year. His calm demeanour, incredible experience, fantastic knowledge and wealth of stories about the Botswana culture is just what our guests love and every safari he leads is a great success.

🌟 CAMP KALAHARI 🌟

This romantic setting is situated on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans in the Kalahari.

We have a barn of 14 horses permanently stabled here and offer 3 night horseback safaris out of Camp Kalahari.

This place touches your soul in way that we can’t explain. There’s something incredibly ethereal about riding in this lunar landscape 🌕✨

During the rains, the second largest Zebra and wildebeest migration in Africa passes through the area feeding in the open grasslands on the edge of the salt pans. The pans fill up with water and become a feeding ground for flamingoes too! 🦩 🦓

During the dry season, the pans dry out and become the largest racetrack in the world! 🐎 The ground is perfect for long canters and fast gallops 😍🙌🏼

🌟 CHA CHA METSI CAMP 🌟

Our permanent base in the Okavango where we operate our horses safaris. The camp is owned by Clyde & Marijke Niven who had a clear vision of what they wanted to create - a symbiotic relationship with nature and people. The Niven family have been exploring the wonderful gems that the Okavango Delta has to offer. They really have created the most magical camp! ✨

So if you’re looking for a bit more luxury then this is the ride to choose! 🤩 If that isn’t enough to convince you then the fact that this camp is located on A PERMANENT HIPPO LAGOON & HAS PERMANENT WATER IN THE AREA ALL YEAR ROUND should!! 😍

FACT: Baobabs are an important source of water and moisture for animals, especially elephants. You can see in this picture where they have destroyed the baobab tree bark with their tusks to get to the moisture 🐘

⭐️MEET OUR HORSE SAFARI GUIDES⭐️

🐴 DAVID : Director & owner of Ride Botswana. With over 38 years of experience under his belt David is at ease as a safari guide. When guided by David he will ensure that you are immersed in Africa and with his passion for the wilderness, it’s wildlife and birdlife he will bring the bush alive and inspire you with a lifetime of adventures.

David guides most of our Okavango Delta Mobile Rides.

🐴 LESH : With his love and deep rooted knowledge of the Kalahari, Lesh is one of our main guides in the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans.

He is usually based out at Camp Kalahari and guides most if not all of our rides out there. Lesh is a great horseman and fantastic safari guide!

🐴 THEBSA : with his strong love for horses, Thebsa takes care of our herd at Cha Cha Metsi Camp as our Barn Manage. He also rides as a back up guide on most if not all of our rides out in the Delta, ensuring that all questions are answered at the back of the ride!

Thebsa is super knowledgeable and takes great care of our four legged family!

🐴 KB : After pursuing another path for a few years, KB is back! KB worked with us way back in 2010 - 2013 when Ride Botswana was just starting up. He then followed another path for a few years but has returned and is now our main guide in the Okavango, based at Cha Cha Metsi Camp.

He has many years of experience in the field. It is great to have him back!

🐴 WISEMAN : another one of our fantastic Kalahari safari guides! Wiseman is based out at Camp Kalahari along with Lesh. Wiseman also leads all of our rides out in the Salt Pans.

Wiseman joined us in 2019 and has been an integral part of the team since!

🐴 RONALD : Ronald has recently become one of our horse safari guides and leads a lot of our trips in the Delta as well as riding back up on some. He has a strong passion for the bush and is a valuable member of the team!
