We weren't disappointed and had a great time dining by the Thamalakane river at Grays Eden Sanctuary. We are now determined to try out the whole menu... Just to be sure 🤩

The miracle of the Okavango Delta is happening now in Maun!
Every year, the water is awaited by all the inhabitants of Maun and its arrival brings a smile to everyone's face, including the frogs, birds, goats, donkeys and cows.
The Thamalakane River slowly fills up thanks to the Boro River. The water first flows northwards because of the slope and then returns southwards, pushed by the flood from the Gomoti River. And it's only then that Maun will regain all its splendour, the reflection of its palm trees, its birdlife and its water lilies.
Apart from this fascinating sight, witnessing the arrival of the water in Maun is probably the best way to connect with the Batswana and learn all the little stories and traditions surrounding the Okavango.
Before leaving, don't forget to dig a small hole at the front of the river tongue, let it fill up and rinse your hands to get luck until next year!

We met Jean-Marc and Sylvie from Paris by chance in 2021, during a visit to Maun. We spontaneously connected and shared an unforgettable pizza on the banks of the Thamalakane River.
3 years later, we're delighted to find them back here and to have helped them to prepare this new adventure in Botswana! We wish you both a safe and happy journey!
Large groups of zebra are currently found around the Baines baobabs. They are probably on their way to the Chobe River, where they migrate every year. It takes around 80 days to complete the route. Good luck to you, guys! 🦓

Where to see the wild dogs in Botswana?
Witnessing these social carnivores in action, as they hunt, play, and interact with their pack and other species, will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your safari.
The chance of spotting them is particularly good in the private concessions of the Okavango Delta.
We met these at Pom Pom after the hyenas had stolen their lunch, leaving them with only a small piece of meat to share!
The beauty of the Namib Desert during the rainy season 🤩

We found this magnificent lion early in the morning along the Okavango River in Namibia.
When we arrived, he had just killed a buffalo with his own strength. He was so exhausted that he left the fresh prey to take a nap in the bush.
Surprisingly, 36 hours later, he was still too tired to eat and the buffalo seemed to be intact. The lion was resting just a few meters away, as if protecting his food.
We heard the rest of the pride on the first morning, but they didn't join in the feast either!
We have no explanation for this behavior and must have missed part of the story. Any ideas?

💙 The rainy season is coming 💙
One morning you wake up to the typical sound of the paradise flycatcher returning from Central Africa for the summer. You open the window and discover that a pair of woodland kingfishers have also arrived and stand on their favorite tree. A few hours later, the parrots appear at the swimming pool while a hoopoe and a barbet are having breakfast.
So many colors, so many songs, and why living here is incredible!
We love meeting special people. Michel and Catherine are among them and we will never forget their spontaneous sympathy, their kindness and their humility, which are perfectly reflected in their testimonial.
The road was difficult, the heat was suffocating but their smiles and their happiness remained intact.

Would anyone like to go for a swim? 😀 Crocodiles feed mainly on fish, but they also prey on game such as antelopes, zebra and buffalo. This young buffalo was caught while the herd was trying to cross the Chobe River. #boatsafari #chobe #botswana
It is not common to come across hyenas along the river in Chobe National Park. Most of the time, they are active in the first hours between the upper road and the tarred road. Did you know that male giraffes fight by rubbing and twisting their necks together? Most of the time, the fight is not really intense and is engaged in as a pastime. But sometimes the fight is much more serious and can result in death. When it's a low intensity fight like this, it looks like they are practising a kind of Tai Chi.
