The Camp’s Fish Eagle Bar is situated on its own secluded island. The main camp (equally romantic) is on the secluded Xaxaba Island, where you are accommodated in luxury safari tents (with four-poster bed). You’ll think you’re on the set of the movie “Out of Africa”. The tents are pitched on raised viewing decks, each of which has two easy chairs and a hammock. Taking meat into Botswana and Namibia
We receive regular questions about taking meat and other fresh produce into Botswana and Namibia from South Africa. Due to the FMD (Foot and Mouth Disease) outbreak in Limpopo, no meat may cross the border from South Africa to Namibia or Botswana. This regulation includes biltong, animal hides, dairy products and eggs. At some of the border posts you might even find they confiscate fruit and vegetables. This means that canned products and UHT products are the best option until this ban is lifted.

Belmond Eagle Island Lodge in Botswana's Okavango Delta will undergo a refurbishment this year and will therefore be closed between January and 1 November.

The refurbishment will virtually be a complete rebuild of the lodge, with the only structures remaining being the base structure of the rooms, which will be extended. There will be a new main area, lounge, bar, library, curio shop, reception, back of house and staff village.

Rooms will also be redesigned.
