Savute wild! This was just fantastic to see on our last trip to Savute. A male and female ostrich with a bunch of young ones! Absolutely loved how all the young stayed grouped together under the watchful eye of the adults. Late October and early November are great times to travel to Botswana.

Running wild and running riot with excitement! An adult African Wild Dog regurgitates meat from a recent kill for the puppies. Botswana is certainly the best place in Africa to see these remarkable and formidable hunters!

A young lioness takes to hunting doves drawn to a water seep in the dry Savute channel in northern Botswana. An amazing bit of behaviour and with success - she caught quite a few that morning!

I do love people photography but rarely post them. I need to change this. In particular, the San stand out of the crowd being so photogenic. This elder from the Ju/‘hoansi with his hunting gear taken in the Tsumkwe region of north eastern Namibia. My interest in cultural photography lies now in Angola. Very keen to explore more!

Powerful and regal. The Martial eagle photographed in Savute in northern Botswana. This individual had caught a yellow mongoose and spent hours feeding on it close to our tented camp. Interested in photographic safaris, then get in touch!

Cheetah, listed as vulnerable with populations in decline, are quite a challenge to find in northern Botswana. On this lucky day in the southern Okavango Delta, we stumbled across four of them. They had just fed. How wonderful!

Leopard love on a rocky outcrop in Savute! Why was this rare? There were actually two males mating with this female and she was accepting both of them. And if that was not rare enough, there was no aggression between the males. Safaris - always something different happening out there!

Another super predator found along the waterways of Africa. Formidable and impressive, Nile crocodiles are from a land before time. This individual, feeding on a giraffe carcass, was found in the Okavango Delta. Back in the day, crocodiles here were almost hunted to extinction.
