ACTIVE SPACES GYM is stepping up to support Marc and the Bush Ways Foundation with an epic fitness challenge you don’t want to miss! 🚴‍♀️🏋️‍♂️

📅 Challenge Details:
👉 In a team of 3 (2 working, 1 resting), complete the following in any order:
✅ 300 Plate Sit-Ups
✅ 300 Cal Row/Ski
✅ 300 Double Unders or Plate Hops
✅ 300 Hill Runs (up + down = 2 reps)
✅ 300 Partner Wall Balls (each rep counts!)
✅ 300 Dumbbell Snatches

⏱ Time Cap: (300 ÷ 30) + 30 minutes!

Bush Ways Botswana Goes Green: Pioneering Solar Power for Sustainable Tourism

Bush Ways Botswana is excited to announce the installation of a solar power system at our Bush Ways Offices and lodges. We are proud to be among the first in Maun to transition from mains electricity, generated from coal-fired stations in Botswana and South Africa, to renewable energy.

As of mid-September, our solar system has gone online, and we are already covering nearly 90% of our electricity needs. With further adjustments, we’re confident we’ll reach 100% solar power at our base in the coming months. This is yet another step in our ongoing commitment to sustainable tourism at Bush Ways Safaris and Lodges.

Widlife Wars on Safari - Hippos Battle for Territory

Captured on a Bush Ways Private Safari in Moremi Game Reserve, between 3rd Bridge and 4th Bridge, two hippo bulls fiercely clashed over territory. But watch until the end for a surprise appearance - an unexpected guest makes a brief appearance, seemingly about to intervene between the two bulls before continuing on its way.

Get To Know the Graceful Gare!

Meet Gare Rijntjes, a proud member of the Bush Ways Clan, who has been working in our Safari Reservations team since 2016. Gare hails from Sexaxa Ward in Maun and brings a wealth of knowledge and love for connecting travellers with unforgettable experiences.

With a passion for continuous learning, Gare has pursued numerous online courses, including a Diploma in Human Resources and Certificates in Marketing, Board Member Essentials, and Non-Profit Essentials.

Her favourite animal is the zebra, a creature she admires for its boldness and protective nature toward its loved ones. It reflects Gare’s own strong sense of loyalty and care for her work and the people around her.

Gare’s favorite destination in Botswana is the stunning Nxai Pan, a place that captures the beauty and serenity of the wilderness. From our wide range of safaris, the Lion Safari is her personal favourite with its exciting mix of a boat cruise along the Chobe River, camping under the stars in Nxai Pan, and game drives through the iconic Moremi Game Reserve and Chobe National Park.

Outside of work, Gare loves the outdoors and enjoys traveling, cooking, and playing table tennis. She has a soft spot for gospel and classic rock, with Bono from U2 being her favourite artist.

Gare’s journey is one of growth, adventure, and dedication, and we’re lucky to have her as part of our family.

🌟Meet the Team Series🌟

Say Hello to Kodumo Sanjira, or as we all know him, KD! 🌿

KD has been a cherished member of the Bush Ways Clan since 2013, starting as a Back-Up Driver and quickly showcasing his versatility as a Camping Assistant and Chef. With a deep love for elephants—admiring how they protect each other in their herd—KD embodies the same care and dedication within our team.

A fan of country music, KD's favorite artist is Don Williams, and when he's not out on safari, he loves spending quality time with his family, especially his two kids—a boy aged 4 and a girl aged 13.

KD's favorite safari destination is the Delta, as he grew up surrounded by its waters in his home village of Etsha, where he's a proud member of the Hambakushi tribe. When back home, KD enjoys the simplicity of farm life, sowing and harvesting watermelon and millet (mabele), and going fishing.

Beyond his love for the outdoors, KD is a skilled chef, having received professional culinary training through Bush Ways. Whether it's preparing local dishes like seswaa, pap, and pasta, or baking bread, pastries, and puddings, KD finds joy in cooking, especially for those he cares about.

He's also a certified First Aid Responder, bringing safety and care to every adventure. KD’s journey with Bush Ways is a testament to his passion for nature, family, and the simple joys of life.

🌟Meet the Team Series: Introducing the Bush Ways Clan!🌿

At Bush Ways, our team is more than just colleagues – they are the hands and hearts behind every experience and more importantly, members of our beloved clan. Join us as we shine a spotlight on the incredible individuals who make every safari an adventure to remember. As we kick off our series, we're starting with our very own, Ntema Aaron!

GET TO KNOW: NTEMA AARON

Omphemetse Aaron Ntema, affectionately known as Ntema, has been a part of the Bush Ways clan since March 2019. Starting his journey as a Back-Up Driver, Ntema quickly showcased his dedication and passion for the safari experience. Following his formal training at the Okavango Cooking School through Bush Ways as well as on-the-job learning, he developed a knack for kitchen creativity and graduated into a Safari Chef and Camping Assistant. In addition, he also completed First Aid training and is now a certified First Aid Responder.

As time went on, Ntema transitioned to Adventure Camping Safaris, where he absorbed knowledge about flora and fauna from his personal research as well as first-hand information from experienced Bush Ways guides. His hard work and enthusiasm to grow and develop culminated in Ntema earning his Assistant Guide license in 2021. Ntema has a deep love for birdlife, with the Lilac Breasted Roller being his favorite. He admires their vibrant colors, which mirror his colorful personality. His passion extends to learning both the scientific and Setswana names of birds. In his spare time, Ntema enjoys reading about current affairs, birdlife, and relaxing to the soothing sounds of afro-jazz.

Ntema recently celebrated a significant career milestone, being promoted from Camping Assistant to Assistant Guide. He is currently operating as an Assistant Guide in Bush Ways Lodges and looks forward to being a Professional Guide, a role he eagerly embraces. Grateful for the opportunities and knowledge gained through the Bush Ways team, Ntema is excited about his journey ahead as he continues to progress and we couldn’t be more proud of our very own clan member.
