The Botswana Holidays team are all based on the ground in Maun, the gateway to the Okavango Delta… and a mere 1 hour drive from the Moremi Game reserve. Our company was established in the early eighties (yes we are the longest running inbound tour operator in Maun) and the present owners have been involved with the company since 2001. During this time we have developed a great working relationship

with all the safari operators and lodges and use our knowledge and insight to make sure you have the holiday of a lifetime. Our small dedicated team prides itself in our attention to detail and willingness to listen to your requests in order to tailor-make your perfect safari. We are all passionate about the bush and are happy to share our knowledge with you. Our enthusiasm and dedication, combined with our local knowledge, experience and our love for the bush, ensures we always create a safari with our personal recommendations.

It is Endangered Species day and today we would like to honor the African Wild Dog. The African Wild Dog scientifically known as Lycaon Pictus are known as incredibly social animals that are devoted to teamwork within their packs. Advanced communication and a complex social structure help them in all aspects of life like hunting, knowing family roles and staying safe.

Despite them working togther to survive, Wild Dogs face the biggest threat from Human Wildlife conflict as it accounts for half of their deaths. This is often due to the misplaced belief that wild dogs are targeting livestock, even though this has been proven to be extremely uncommon in multiple studies. These factors, among others, have resulted in wild dogs being listed as an endangered species by the IUCN.
