Until recently Caye Caulker largely relied on bottled water being shipped in—a service that has been disrupted by the coronavirus pandemic.

We are excited to announce that a written agreement with the Government of Belize now provides a clear path to a gillnet ban throughout ALL Belizean waters. A gillnet ban will have substantial long term benefits to sportfishing, commercial fishing, and Belize’s entire economy. The transition work with gillnetters has already begun and we feel it will be completed in a few short months. As outlined in the agreement, when the transition is complete a ban will immediately go into effect.

Anybody in San Pedro interested in signing up for the Frenchie's Offshore Open can meet Frenchie himself at The Office between 12:00pm and 3:00pm today. He will register boats and anglers, as well as collect entrance fees. Boats are required to present themselves at the Bimini Start tomorrow morning in front of Rainbow Restaurant where they will receive their release flags and shirts.
