Enjoy a physically relaxing, mentally/visually exciting, trip along a gentle flowing jungle river as you tube in and out of various cave passageways in the Caves Branch river system at the Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve.
We make our way on the Western Highway for an approximately 1-hour drive and then along a dirt road for about 30 minutes. On our arrival at the Caves Branch site, we gear up with helmets, waterproof headlamps, and our inner tubes. We take a flat hiking trail through the jungle for about 45 minutes before entering one of the many cave entrances and passages that make up the cave system.

Last week while on the way to Caracol our tour group came across our largest wild cat the Jaguar (Pantera onca). The road to Caracol is one of the best places in the country for wildlife spotting. Although rare there have been a handful of Jaguar sightings on this section of the road apart from jaguars, keen-eyed observers should lookout for Ocellated Turkey, Great Curassow, Long-tailed Weasel, Boas, and many other creatures of Belize.
