Schedule of events hosted by Town Council.

Deputy Mayor Adaly Ayuso and the San Pedro Town Council Events Committee presents the Council’s Calendar of Events for 2022. The Committee met over the weekend to finalize the details of some of major events being hosted by the Council this year.

Dia De San Pedro Festival will be 3 days of activities and we will now have a new festival in September with 6 days of activities. Our aim will be to promote our festivals both locally and internationally. This Calendar does not reflect the activities that will also be hosted through the other portfolios such as sports, tourism, women, youths and children affairs, etc.

TRAVEL UPDATE! The lifting of the Covid-19 regulations will take effect at midnight today, Thursday, March 31.

By Aaron Humes: Friday may be April Fools Day, but the following news is no joke: all remaining restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic except for travel across the borders and tourists will be lifted. It will no longer be mandatory to wear masks anywhere and clubs and bars can now re-open.

Ahead of the 2022 Commonwealth Games the Queen’s Baton Relay has started to visit all Commonwealth nations, including Belize. The Baton is currently in Belize, and on Wednesday, March 23rd, it made it to Ambergris Caye, where it was taken to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve.

We are very pleased to hear this announcement that Ambergris Caye will be receiving a hospital!

It was with great satisfaction that Prime Minister Hon. Dr. John Briceno announced today that the country’s main tourism mecca and the people of San Pedro Town, Ambergris Caye will soon have a hospital that can service the destination and its growing population with the possibility to serve the nearby island community of Caye Caulker.
