Protest today at 4.30pm at Cayo Rosario!!!!

On February 27th, I sent this letter to Hol Chan Marine Reserve at their request, so that we can file the myriad of complaints they have received from numerous fly guides and companies. We hand delivered this letter and asked them to please intervene and assist. We asked them to honor the trust the fly guide community has built with them. We asked them to reach out to us. To protect Cayo Rosario that falls under Zone E. Up to today, there has been SILENCE. Silence from the very people who claim to be guardians of the most important marine reserve in Ambergris Caye.

Last week, a brave fly guide raised his concern and placed blame on the minister of tourism, he was attacked and told that the minister would find out what is happening and get back to the fly guide community. We are still waiting. Today I say, DO NOT be intimidated by the people who are no longer threatening our livelihood, BUT are destroying it and taking the food from our mouths! We are the only ones who stand to lose!

I am calling on all tour operators and fly guides to meet at Cayo Rosario today for a protest at 4.00pm. I have the support of other fly guides and I hope to See you out there! This is for us. For our children. If Hol CHAN won't stand for us, if the minister won't stand for us, it is time for us to. stand FOR OURSELVES.
