One of our instructors was asked last weekend, “What if the weather is awful—cold, rain, snow—do we still set up scenarios out there?” Short answer: Absolutely!
Sure, our fall sessions have been blessed with great weather so far, but emergencies don’t check the forecast. In fact, they’re more likely to happen when conditions aren’t ideal. That’s why we encourage our participants to embrace whatever nature throws their way—because real-life situations won’t wait for sunny skies. Training in tough weather? That’s where you really prepare yourself to handle anything, rain or shine. 🌧🌲

Out in the wild, you won’t always have everything you need—but you should have at least a trusty first aid kit! Still, when the kit runs dry or nature decides to get tricky, it’s your quick thinking and resourcefulness that will save the day. Wilderness based first aid is all about getting creative, making do with what you have, and staying cool under pressure!
Happy Friday…safe adventures to all this weekend!
