If you like the heat, but not the sargassum (sea weed!) piled high on your beach vacation, look no further than Costa Mujeres. ⭐️The beaches here have the softest sand, stretch for miles, and are perfectly situated to get way less sargassum. Take a look at travelling with a purpose in action at the Lusumpuko Women's Club in Zimbabwe.
Planeterra partnered with the Lusumpuko Women's Club to give them a kick start to start their enterprise, they now employ 29 women, and their community of over 400 is feeling the benefits.
They provide meals and cooking demonstrations for tourists, and in turn use the income for:
🐢 a monthly lunch service, catered for the patients and healthcare workers at the local hospital
🐢 a garden project to provide produce for the community at a reasonable price
🐢 a community fund to help cover funeral and burial costs
🐢 employing local people
What an incredible opportunity for the local people to bond with one another and support their community!
