Nexus cards are a great tool for any traveller and their family to have. It holds a similar power as your passport to allow to enter/exit the country by land, air, or sea. Other benefits include priority in the screening lines at Canadian and International Airport Security and quicker customs processing. Always make sure you have a copy or picture of your identification especially your passport.
Did you know that there are over 300,000 passports in the US alone that are lost or stolen each year?
Most of us have been there: prepping our tickets and travel docs for an upcoming flight, only to realize, with a sinking feeling, that the little blue book is nowhere to be found. For many, this is (thankfully) a false alarm—a passport slipped into a different part of your bag, say, or is sitting somewhere in plain sight. For others, a passport really is just that: lost.
No matter how travel savvy you are, it happens. I ask all my clients for a copy of their passport picture page. Why? Because not only does it help me verify someones legal name for travel documents but if you lose your passport while abroad, I can help you in getting a new one so you can return home.
You don't want to be in this position but if you are, you'll want that copy for yourself or for me to provide it.

Alaska is a cruise destination with a limited season. Cruise ships arrive in Southeast Alaska in spring, stay the summer and linger only into the early fall. The 49th state's snowy, cold and dark winters are not conducive to cruising.
Most cruise passengers will head to Alaska between Memorial Day in late May and Labor Day in early September, when temperatures range from slightly chilly to warm during the long daylight hours. Tourist attractions are in full swing, salmon swim upriver and bears (and humans) have access to fishing.
Some adventurous cruisers will board ships when they arrive in Alaska in April to see the remnants of winter. A few big ships cruise into mid-October for those who want a peek at what life is like in Alaska towns when all the other tourists have returned home.
The peak months for Alaska travel is June-August so if you are looking to travel Alaska on more of a budget try the shoulder season on April/May and September/October when school is in session for a less crowded visit.
Balcony cabins are the first to go so if you are looking for that category then you need to plan in advance!
