The Spirit of Nepal: shop and support local

Supporting local businesses is an integral part of our trip to Nepal (we’re a local, small business 😉) . We are dedicated to educating our groups to shop locally, give back fairly and learn about the culture of Nepal.

Breathe in Life has been very fortunate to connect with a grassroots women’s organization, Women’s Foundation Nepal .Their mission is to educate, house and support women and children from unacceptable living conditions. It is difficult and heartwarming to meet women and children who have a safe place to live. Their journey to live securely has inspired them to pursue education and independent work plus give back to the organization in various ways.

Shopping local means we are supporting artists and entrepreneurs who are pursuing their dream of creating unique, creative products and stores! It is an imperative way of conscious exchange, assisting small businesses to be successful while building meaningful relationships ❤️

The Spirit of Nepal: friends who co-guide

Meet Kat and Raju. They first met in Canada in 2007 and started co-guiding together in 2009. Together, they create an extraordinary trekking experience in Nepal! 💥

Raju is an experienced and licensed guide. He is very accommodating to everyone’s needs and desires on the trek. He loves playing cards and has the best laugh! 😃
Kat teaches yoga (well, more stretching during the trek), is an experienced group travel leader and drinks way too much chai! ☕ 🤪

Every trek they have guided together has been spectacular! We aren’t just saying that, ask anyone who has been on one of our trips🌈 It’s amazing to have this dream team working together again, your trek is sure to flow with ease, confidence and delight!

The Spirit of Nepal: trekking for everyone!

One of the most common questions we receive about trekking in Nepal is about fitness. Often folks think they aren’t fit enough to trek. We are here to tell you that you are and can!! ✨

Walking every day on the trek does require some endurance and strength, consistency with training before you leave can help immensely. If you are able to walk varied terrain (stairs, hills, in the forest and your neighbourhood) you will be just fine! It doesn’t matter if you walk slowly or have a faster pace, our experienced and large support team ensures everyone walks safely and comfortably.

There is a saying for trekking in Nepal: a little bit up and a little bit down 😂 (which is very true and rewarding)

A successful trek in Nepal has many components. Breathe in Life salutes our success due to our trekking team in Nepal! We have been co-guiding together since 2007, and they are not only an integral part of our trek, they are really good friends! ❤️

We work with experienced, independent guides, who in turn hire a local and highly trained support team. Together we walk mountain paths and create a very strong bond of care and appreciation. For 7 days we will create a travel family and experience the awe of the Himalayas, it’s magical ✨

Our commitment is to hire locally, pay considerately and ensure an intimate connection with our clients through ample support on our treks. We are a dedicated and highly experienced team!
