✨ Star Rating Explained ✨
What does a hotel star rating actually mean? The hotel star rating measures and evaluates the features and amenities a hotel or resort offers to give guests a picture of what kind of services and offerings they can expect to receive during their stay. It doesn’t necessarily measure the quality of the service, but rather tells you the level of service and amenities you may receive.
For example, at a 3 star resort you may receive excellent service from the front desk or cleaning staff but these properties don’t offer a higher level of service such as valet parking, butler/concierge service. Alternatively, you may have had a really delicious meal at your 4-star resort restaurant but the restaurant wasn’t a gourmet or Michelin star restaurant that you would see offered at a 5-star amenities resort. Also even 5-star resorts can have poor quality of service, food and cleanliness.
It’s also important to consider that there isn’t a standard international star rating system and each destination you travel to will have their own star rating system and it will mean something different there. A 4* resort in Cuba is not equivalent to a 4* resort anywhere else in the Caribbean and would be closer to a 2-3*.

Big new changes coming to Disney Genie + services beginning July 24, 2024
Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel and other select hotels (Shades of Green Resort, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels) will be able to plan Lightning Lane passes up to 7 days in advance, for their entire stay (up to 14 days). All other guests can plan up to 3 days in advance. These advance purchase windows will let guests secure some of their must-do rides and experiences after they've had some time to decide what dining reservations they want to book and any other plans they may need to consider.

Do you have a Pirate fan in your family?? You need a Disney Cruise then! Pirates in the Caribbean Night!
Most people wear pirate outfits or the red pirate bandanas to dinner (your stateroom host will leave them on your bed on pirate night). NOTE: The Disney Wish does not provide them.
Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique transforms into The Pirates League during the day and it’s for ages 3 and up. Reservations can be made 75 days prior to your sail date for first time sailors.
You can start meeting characters in their pirate-themed attire around 4pm. Check the Personal Navigator app and keep in mind that the characters only stay out for 15-30 minutes.
Dinner includes a special pirate Caribbean-themed menu
Mickey’s Pirates in the Caribbean party will start around 7:30pm. Pirate Mickey and other characters will come out for a pirate show performance.
Around 6:30pm and 9:45pm, there is usually a family activity called “A Pirate’s Life for Me”

We hear Tiana has sent the invites out for her big Mardi Gras celebration! While the princess and her fun-loving friend Louis are finishing up details on the party down in the bayou, guests are probably wondering what to wear, what to bring and how they should prepare for an exhilarating musical adventure that crescendos with a 50-foot drop right before the grandest celebration this side of the Mississippi.
Well don’t fret because we’ve got all the things guests need to know before riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure when the attraction opens on June 28 at Walt Disney World.
Tips on How to Ride Tiana’s Bayou AAdventures by Disney
1- Drop on in-to virtual queue...
When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on June 28, it will use a virtual queue. Guests can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times: 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening.

2- ... or purchase Disney Genie+ service.
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also be included as a Lightning Lane entrance in Disney Genie+ service*. Purchasing this service on the My Disney Experience app helps you get to some of your favorite attractions faster through Lightning Lane entrances and includes digital downloads of select Disney PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of purchase. Guests may check the app on the day of their visit for pricing and availability.

3- Smile for the camera!
No party is complete without pictures. As guests make their way through the bayou to get to Tiana’s party, Disney PhotoPass Service will serve up a special photo when they’re almost there.
If you want to download this attraction photo and your other magical moments, dig no deeper than Memory Maker – with this all-inclusive photo package, guests can download all of their Disney PhotoPass photos taken during their vacation.

4- Be prepared to get wet!
At some point when guests drop on in to Tiana’s party, there’s a strong chance riders may get wet. While most guests will appreciate the refreshing cool down, others may want to bring their rain gear.
Didn’t bring any? No worries. There are plenty of places to find a poncho in Magic Kingdom.
Celebrate Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opening across Magic Kingdom
Shop new attraction merchandise.
After riding the new attraction, we can bet guests will want to take a piece of the bayou home with them.
Starting June 28, guests can find the collections for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and “The Princess and the Frog”-inspired merchandise at the Emporium at Magic Kingdom. And, shortly after the attraction debuts, the merchandise will hop over to Critter Co-Op in Frontierland.
5- Try some of Tiana’s Famous Beignets!
A trip to the bayou is never complete without some good eats and sweet treats. Among the food and beverage offerings we look forward to sharing soon will be Tiana’s Famous Beignets, of course.
Beginning opening day, Golden Oak Outpost and The Friar’s Nook will be serving up these light, sweet, and fluffy beignets drizzled with honey and powdered sugar. These will be available for a limited time only so let the good times roll.
*Attractions with Lightning Lane entrances that are Disney Genie+ are limited in availability, subject to change or closure, may vary by date, are not guaranteed and may not be available at all on the date of visit or at the time you make a selection.

If you are flying to Walt Disney World, I recommend a Mears Connect motorcoach for airport transfers to and from your Disney resort. The current roundtrip cost with tax is $33 for ages 10+ and $27 for ages 3-9. Ages 0-2 are free. The motorcoach is comfortable, air-conditioned, includes a bathroom and Disney vacation clips playing throughout the ride.
The location is easy to find at MCO (Orlando International Airport) and the booking confirmation gives specific instructions on where to meet. The check in process is quite easy. You scan the QR code that is emailed the day before your flight or you can go to the Mears Connect check in desk.
Your motorcoach should arrive within 20 minutes, if not sooner. Your luggage is stored underneath. The motorcoach may make a few stops to drop off other guests at other resorts, but the entire bus ride is usually 35-50 minutes.
If you want direct transfers to your resort, there are more expensive options that I can send you as well.
