Well with fall fast approaching and noticing I haven’t posted any of our last fall moose pictures, figured what better time. We had a great fall and great clients. This bull came from our river camp. We have had some clients move hunts to another year and have several openings in this camp September 22-29 . We went 100% in this camp last year and average 75% over the last 13 seasons. At 2am on July 11/24 our beautiful little girl Sadie Jade Kuelken entered the world at 7pounds 2 ounces . Shortly after we noticed she wasn’t doing well. The team at the labour and delivery ward in St Albert quickly had her in there NCIU where they assessed her and quickly had her intubated and a call made to have her taken to the Stollery. Shortly after an ambulance team arrived and once she was stable they raced off. One can only imagine the emotions you have in this situation until it happens to you . My amazing wife less than two hours after delivery was discharged and we raced to find our precious little girl.
At the Stollery NICU she was sedated and medically paralyzed, put on a ventilator and the team worked feverishly to find out what was going on.
Long story short our Sadie is stable and still on a ventilator. She is improving and her prognosis looks good. She’s very fragile and very sick but on the mend. She has pulmonary hypertension. Still assessing the cause but they think they have it narrowed down. Sounds like now she needs time .
We’re very thankful and blessed that we were in the right places and all the right people were available as quickly as they were, definitely the man upstairs made sure of that.
We’re tired and by her side, momma is incredible and doing well given the situation.
Lastly I want to say we donate to many groups and charities and sometimes it’s hard to know where your donations would best serve. After this I can tell you the level of care at the stollery is unmatched and if you’re ever in the situation where your kids need to be here you’ll be thankful it’s an option. They will be getting anything we can from now on to ensure it’s always here.
Keep our little Sadie in your thoughts and prayers , she’s as tough as her momma and we’re doing good.
We’re in the home stretch of our bear season only a couple days left. Where we hunt often getting bears back to camp is not an option. This bear was 7’2” with a 20 10/16” skull around 375-400 pounds. We were not going to attempt to drag him to the boat . So here’s a time lapse of getting him skinned where he expired .
It takes a team to keep our operations running smoothly. My amazing wife and kids are at home while I’m away in our bear camps. Not only is my amazing wife keeping the farm running and all
Our animals alive and happy she’s also putting in our garden, getting groceries for camp , cooking and baking for camps. She also had a bear in the yard trying to get our chickens and calves, but she took care of business on that pesky bu**er. Oh and she’s doing it all eight months pregnant!!
She’s one of a kind and I’m a very lucky man to have her by my side in all our adventures! Our amazing kids are also incredible help and all a big part of keeping everything going on the farm and in our camps .
Josh didn’t want the fun to end so we had him back out looking for big bears. On night three he notched his second tag with this gorgeous 6’9” boar. Josh is also taking home all the meat from both bears to share with his family. Thanks for trusting us for this hunt.
Ed also travelled from Ohio to chase Alberta black bears. On night number two he was able to anchor this beautiful bear. We’re blessed each year with amazing clients that make our job very enjoyable and Ed is no exception. Thanks for trusting us with your bear adventure.
Shannon Riley joined her husband Brian on there Black bear adventure. Hers was no less exciting. She also took this big old gorgeous boar on night number two. This bear has a beautiful white blaze on his chest and came in at 6’10”. Guide Frank was able to sit with her and catch the action on film
As well. Can’t wait to see this fella mounted.

Brian Riley from Texas came for an adventure and to chase big bears . He got both. Night number two I had boat engine problems so decided to sit with Brian for the evening and not chance not being able to get back to him. So I got to watch and film the adventure unfold. Was a blast , beautiful 6’9” boar.
Well we kicked off our season with this seven foot beauty . Headed to Ohio . Josh’s very first big game harvest and couldn’t be happier to have helped facilitate it.
Ok everyone we’re Hiring !! We are looking for a camp cook for our fly in fishing lodge for our summer season. All of June and part of July . Needing someone versed in home style cooking and the ability to bake would be an asset as well. Duties are three meals a day and snacks. We have a commercial grade kitchen with all the required equipment and supplies needed. Beautiful setting , your own private room in our staff cabin . Looking for someone that enjoys the remote setting, good with people and most of all can cook amazing meals. My beautiful wife and I are expecting again soon and she’s unable to be there like she normally is . So anyone that’s interested or knows of anyone please send them our way.

Well with a busy winter of wolf hunts and a crazy spring of bear hunts and fishing season kicking off soon, my beautiful wife and I decided to get away for a few days. Even five months pregnant she was still up for hiking some mountains in sheep country. Little man loved it too and cheered me on from his comfy pack.
Well the last week was cold and wolf activity was slow to start but picked up as the week went on. on Day 4 noticed fresh tracks in the snow as he made his way to the blind. So he slowly slipped in and this big old male was on the bait. Some quick work with his 6.5 PRC and it was all over . Congrats Curt and thanks for joining us.
Well we are excited to announce that we have been blessed once again. Our little girl will arrive in July . We couldn’t be more excited for her arrival and her siblings can’t wait either. She’s absolutely perfect, Our hearts are full.
We’re approaching our last few wolf hunters for the season. These are a few on the hit list for next week. Hoping we’re relocating a few of them to Wyoming and capping off our season with a bang. Stay Tuned.
This cold weather has me thinking of warmer days. This photo from last fall was a bittersweet moment in time. Just before taking this photo, Marvin on his third hunt with us had just taken an Alberta Bull Moose.
This ended the season for us. It was just Marvin and Myself. So before we got to work breaking down the moose and packing up to head home, we took a few minutes. A few minutes to soak in this beautiful spot that god created . To say thanks for the harvest and for how blessed we were to be there doing what we were doing. I was excited to be headed home to my family, but sad to be leaving this place I love so much.
So we took a few minutes to make a coffee and soak in where we were and how lucky we were to be there .
Zach Hillman with From Idaho joined us for a wolf adventure. Much like his hunting partners there was no wolf action for the first four days. Day five he had a coyote test his resolve, but he held off . At last light a wolf appeared out of nowhere on the bait . Zach waisted no time and in his words he “let the 28 Nosler eat”, putting his beautiful Alberta Wolf down on the spot.
Zach was sitting on a bait on a little river, a beautiful spot but it offers little openings to see wolves approaching. But he was upto the task and made it work.
Well last week was our first week of Wolf Hunts. Dillon Klingler reached out to me and we set up this hunt. Himself Brandon Bair and Zach Hillman of came up from Idaho to give it a go .
After four long days in the blinds with no wolf action during daylight hours, things were starting to look bleak . Day 5 and the final day the guys could hunt it all came together.
Brandon texted me at around 3pm that he had shot at a wolf and was unsure if he had hit it . I raced to his location and started tracking. With no blood after 100 yards it wasn’t looking good, but with good tracks to follow I was going to go until we were sure it was a miss. Maybe another 20 yards we found our first blood and another 20 yards their lied Brandon’s first wolf. A huge female with gorgeous colouring . Couldn’t be happier for Brandon .
Some hunts will forever stay in your mind and this is one of them. It wasn’t the hunting that I’ll cherish it’s the time spent with Dillon Zach and Brandon , three absolute awesome guys that I hope I get to hunt with many more times. Thanks guys !!
Well we interrupt all the hunting photos to introduce the newest member of the family. Born in February and now just over ten months old , this is Klancy . We have been soaking up every moment we can get with him and he has filled our hearts. We are truly blessed. In his short ten months he has been taken on all kinds of adventure, bush planes , mountains and most of the summer at our lodge. His siblings are as in love with him as we are. He’s one amazing kid, always happy and his smile is infectious.
Who loves coloured bears ? This beautiful bear went home to Florida with hunter Brent . This beauty measured just at 20” green . Brent was patient all week passing many quality bears looking for the right one. When this one came rolling in with a sow it was all over .
Dennis joined us from Florida this past spring. He took this beautiful big boar not far into the hunt. This bear came in and Dennis took his shot, not feeling great about the shot he sat tight . To his surprise this bear came back not long later and his second shot counted . Upon skinning him we found his first arrow had shattered his front leg. Amazing how strong they are.
First time bear hunter Abby, from Minnesota doubles up on her first bear hunt. Her first big game animals with the bow as well. Was a fun week and tons of bear action.
Toby from Montana joined us again for another bear hunt. Taking this nice boar after watching many bears. Short tracking job as well.
Alright time to show everyone our season. Starting with Justin Combs from Michigan. Justin is no longer a client but family. Having hunted with us for creeping up on twenty years.
But Justin anchored this beautiful boar in our fly in camp. We had an amazing season with amazing clients,
Who’s looking to knock a wolf off the bucket list ? Well we have some spots open in January and February for a couple people to come do just that . Baits have been set since mid November and are all active with the wolves , lots of wolves. Hunts are 6 days, beautiful log home accommodation, amazing home cooked meals, heated wooden blinds. We live and outfit in wolf country , come help out our moose and deer. Be prepared for long sits and cold temperatures.
Hunts are $5700 USD , pick up and drop off at Edmonton International airport, licences, meals accommodation. We will skin your wolves and get them to taxidermist that will get proper permits and ship you your trophy.

Well it’s been a crazy busy year. One I’ve lacked to share on social media due to well life. But I’ll start posting our spring bear and fall moose hunts soon.
But following a busy season chasing moose, it was my daughters turn with her first moose tag . We made short work of the hunt and 45 min opening day we were done. She made an incredible shot and I’m so proud of her. I’ve guided countless clients to moose, but this one tops the list.
