Couldn’t be happier to have welcomed our first guests at the new cabin this past weekend!
Just a couple years behind schedule.. ( ) but better late than never. Certainly didn’t plan to open the doors in January 😅 oh well, it’s a trail by.. ice?

Much appreciation for our inaugural guests .frances for Guinea-Pigging the cabin experience on a three-night stay! You guys are awesome! 🙏🏼

After endless delays & unexpected obstacles.. our new cabin is finally ready to be shared!

Such huge thanks for all the help I’ve had along the way. The chances of me being able to do this alone are precisely 0/100, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the family & friends that’ve been there to lean on.

Finally!! 🥳 it is time!!

Beginning this Friday (nov.11) I will begin taking bookings at the new cabin!

Before we go live on AirBnB we want to offer any friends & past guests the opportunity to get first dibs. I’ll be taking weekend bookings ONLY for now, and we will be maintaining our two-night minimum stay policy. (Flexible depending on the circumstances).

If interested - shoot me a DM w/ the dates you’d like!

** Ill only be booking a month or so in advance for now **

**due to shipping delays our woodstove has not been installed yet. Until we receive our parts for the stove, heat will be provided via electric heater/generator power **

** just like the original cabin - this is an off-grid rental & is only accessible by foot + uses an outhouse for a washroom **

My mother has the cutest little fairytale basket shop on-site here at Harbour Hills. This was taken yesterday evening with all the sneaky fog that rolled in..

We will have some of her original pieces on display (functionally) at our new cabin once it opens.

Check out if you’d like to see her handiwork. One of the best weavers walking, and she can even teach you how!

We are figuratively DYING to open our newest addition to the public! Our second cabin here at Harbour Hills is a few short weeks away from being available to rent, and should be ready in time for the fall colours!

We’re currently waiting on our woodstove to be built & delivered and we cannot wait! If you don’t know of them already, check ‘em out! Incredibly well-crafted tiny stoves, made in Canada 🍁 🇨🇦 🔥

Very lucky to have our land sandwiched between a huge acreage of municipal hiking trails & an equally huge acreage of untouched forest and pasture land. Our only neighbours are these curious moo-bears that like to come up to the very corner of their territory to see if they can figure out just wtf I’m doing up here 😅

There’s a modest heap of unfinished details.. but things are taking shape. About a dozen pieces of trim left to tack on + some minor electrical finishes & some paint touch ups..

BUT then it’ll be finished .. 😧🤯

As much as I loved our old bunk beds (not very much!) it is indeed very nice to now have a big comfy queen bed at the cabin.

As a Tetris master, it use to drive me wild that there was no fitting arrangement of furniture that would allow for one’s (or twos’s) head to be by the window while in laying in bed.. it’s super great to finally have remedied this profound tragedy.

(Also, big sorries to anyone who ever ended up drawing the short straw and had to rough it top bunk.. 😬)

(And big thanksies for all you guests who endured sleeping on the futons.. I’ve slept on these futons, and, you are so gracious for not seeking revenge.. thank you all so very much 🙏🏼)
