Our coastline is dotted with many lighthouses, including the Maritime's tallest one, located on Cape Sable - best viewed from The Hawk, Cape Sable Island. Learn of the history and heritage of our lights, and like a lightkeeper of days gone by, climb the steps of the Seal Island Light Museum and take in the view from the top!

Kayaking Clinics this Week!
August 21st 5-6:30pm Sherose Island Boat Launch
August 22nd 10-11:30am North East Point Beach
The clinic will address basic kayaking strokes, and discuss kayaking equipment, and safety. All of the equipment will be provided, participants only need to bring appropriate clothing (swimsuit), water, towel, sunscreen.

This past weekend on August 10th marked the beginning of the Congrès Mondial Acadian. The Congrès Mondial Acadian or CMA is a celebration of Acadian culture and heritage! The CMA takes place every 5 years all over the world!
The CMA is taking place from August 10th until August 18th with each day filled with special events to celebrate this great time! The events are taking place from Pubnico all the way to Clare!!! Dipping kiacks (gaspereau) has always been a long standing tradition on the Barrington River. In years past, the river was alive with fishers using nets to catch these fish as they made their journey up river to spawn. You will find less fishers today, but the river still creates a buzz of activity this time of year as people stop to take in the action and purchase a few to take home to eat themselves! Have you ever tried one?
