Due to the weather we will be holding this service inside the gathering area on the bottom floor of the Wesley Heritage Community Centre, 2288 Highway 3, Barrington, 10:45am.

This will be a standing event as usual.

This year marks the 15th anniversary of our beloved Lobster Trap Christmas Tree, a tradition that’s become a true symbol of the holiday spirit and coastal heritage here in the Lobster Capital of Canada! For 15 years, this unique tree—built from lobster traps and adorned with meaningful buoys—has cast its glow over Barrington Bay, honoring the heart and resilience of our fishing community.

Join us in celebrating this milestone! Our new Lobster Trap Christmas Tree ornaments are now available, and now you can take home a piece of this special tradition. Each glass ornament comes with a postcard that shares our tree’s story. Here’s to 15 years of gathering, remembering, and lighting the way forward.

How many poutines have you tried so far? Share your photos with us!

A couple of reminders for Poutine Week!

🍟Please check ahead for restaurant hours as there are some with closures on different days etc.

🍟Try to keep your same passport for the whole duration as restaurants have limited passports to give out. Return your passports to any participating restaurant within a few days of October 7th and we will collect them.

🍟 Every poutine stamped is a chance to be entered in the grand prize draw of $25 gift certificate to each participating restaurant.

🍟There will be voting happening after for Peoples Choice Award so keep that in mind and look for a voting poll after the event ends.

Join the Barrington Museum Complex at Fibre Friday, today from 1:00 to 4:00 at the Barrington Woolen Mill museum, as they welcome “Shirl the Purl”.

Shirley is both a designer and an author. Her newest book “Big Splash Knits” will soon be in stores. She is co-author of the Newfoundland knits series of books.

She will be showing examples of her new patterns, giving tips and stories. It is sure to be a great time! There is no admission charge for this but they will happily accept donations!
