🎥Movie shot in Bayfield
The screening of To Hold the Night will be held on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 10 a.m. at the Wolf Performance Hall. Tickets are on sale now. Adults are $15 and students and seniors are $12.75. The film will be presented as a part of the shorts program: “Human Connections”. Tickets can be purchased at: To Hold the Night.

“There are a lot of Bayfield residents planning to come and I wanted to get the word out to invite others,” said Petelle. The director and producer of the short film will be attending and she will be joined by Brad Turner, cinematographer and producer; and Nikki Andrew, producer; along with other cast and crew.

The story is set in the 1960s, where Nadine wakes up in her father’s house on her wedding day. Not only does she not remember getting there, she doesn’t remember the groom or their courtship…

To Hold the Night stars Anwen O’Driscoll, Megan Hutchings, Mike Taylor and a very special resident of Bayfield, Chris Potter. It was written by Alyson Shelton, who is also credited as a producer.

The Wolf Performance Hall is located at 251 Dundas Street, London, ON.

The following information has been provided by the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) related to a domestic training exercise for a simulated extreme heat scenario that will be happening in Huron County in May.

There is no need to be alarmed; there is no threat to public safety.

Residents of Huron County may notice an increased CAF presence throughout the County during this exercise. More information will be shared with Bluewater residents as it becomes available.

"31 Canadian Brigade Group will be conducting training in Huron and Bruce Counties from May 3rd to 5th, 2024. This exercise will enhance interoperability with other governmental departments, as they work together to respond to a simulated extreme heat scenario. Members of the public will see the deployment of Domestic Response Companies (DRCs) and Territorial Battalion Group (TBG) sustainment equipment, and vehicles to validate the ability to deploy and sustain in real time. This is being done to create a more challenging, realistic training exercise, and will see soldiers conducting fire training, wellness checks, simulated search and rescue operations, cooling center establishment, as well as other related activities.

All measures are being taken to ensure minimum inconvenience to those in the area. Members of the public are asked to take extra caution if approaching military vehicles and troops and are thanked in advance for their understanding and co-operation."

Questions can be directed to 31 Canadian Brigade Group Public Affairs Officer, Lt Paul Verheye at [email protected]
