Unexpected cancellations and closures abound this morning! Feel free to tag the Chamber in any cancellation/closure posts and we will share with our followers.

Pro tips:
✅ include the day/date of the closure in the post and in any images where possible
✅ delete the post at the end of the day so that FB can’t show it to customers later, causing confusion
✅ to increase the chances that your followers will see important posts like closures and cancellations, use the feature in the comments as we’ve done on this post. We recommend using this feature sparingly.

On April 8, 2024, between 2:00 PM and 4:30 PM, Huron East will experience a near-total solar eclipse.

According to Huron Perth Public Health (HPPH), while Huron and Perth are not in the Path of Totality, residents in the area will experience a partial eclipse starting around 2 pm and ending after 4:30 pm.

It is not safe to look directly at the sun during a total or partial solar eclipse. Health impacts include retinal burns, blurred vision and loss of eyesight (immediate or delayed onset). Be aware that there are no nerve endings in the retina, so people looking at the sun will not experience pain as a deterrent and may not be aware that damage is occurring.
