We can’t forget Rome! 🤩

On a blistering 38 degree day (July 18)🥵, we disembarked NCL Escape and toured the city until 9:30pm. 🤯 “Rome wasn’t built in a day” but we conquered our “to do” list in one!

Growing up in an Italian household in Canada, when the F1 races were happening, it was on the TV, just as long as soccer wasn’t! If we weren’t cheering for those unmistakable crimson red Ferrari F1 race cars, we probably would have been sleeping outside!

Being a first generation Canadian, all I ever wanted was to fit in. Thankfully growing up closer to a larger city (Toronto) there were a lot of kids in the same position as I was. I often hesitated when asked about my middle name growing up, as it wasn’t common in Canada. But in my world, it was synonymous with a legend.

I’m sure when pressed hard enough, my dad would admit that my middle name was borrowed from a man whose steps I’m sitting on in this very picture! With my kids!

As we learned more about the man that built Ferrari into one of the world’s most recognizable car companies in the world, we found another amusing connection - Natalie shares the same birthdate as Enzo Ferrari! Also…Enzo’s birthplace home is called Casa Natale.

I had the posters on the wall. The magazines, the model cars, everything. My son Marcus shares my love of Ferrari. This trip was to see Maranello and walk in Enzo Ferrari’s footsteps with my son. 💙

For our family, this is what makes travel and exploring something we can’t let slip by when we have the ability to do it. It has been a whirlwind tour of Italy, but we aren’t done yet. Stay tuned, the gondolas in Venice are calling!

Yesterday we experienced Piazza del Duomo, and Miracle Square in Pisa as a family of 4. ❤️ The last time our family travelled to Pisa, we had yet to meet our sweet Natalie. What a memorable day for all of us, as we conquered the 251 steps to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa together! 🇮🇹

Yesterday was our fourth time to France 🇫🇷, but it was our first time in Cannes! 🤩 What a gorgeous city. We walked along Boulevard de la Croisette and took a 50 minute tour on The Little Train. We had our eyes open for celebrities, but had no luck.

Our last full day. A sea day. Cruising through the inside passage into Vancouver. The weather has been great the entire journey, and spectacular today. 😎☀️

As our journey comes to an end, I am forever grateful that I got to do this with my mom. We’ve explored new destinations, made new friends and a lifetime of memories. ❤️

Ketchikan! You did not disappoint.

We came prepared for the rain and the wind, and it turns out to be the first day without rain since Mother’s Day! 😱

This has to be one of the easiest (and nicest) ports I’ve visited. So much to see and do within walking distance.
