Another season over with much to be grateful for. May long weekend opened up after 2 years closed. It arrived with a bang. A terrible storm left us without power. Our guests never complained, jumped in the lake, and sat by the fire welcoming Spring in Ontario. Wonderful new families are staying and coming back. Watching their children play the old fashioned way was a delight! Sadly, we lost two very special guests much too young and much too soon. Also, Bill Harnden our neighbour on the shoreline passed away just recently on Thursday Oct. 19th at Ross Memorial Hospital. He was 91 and owned the cottage for 54 years . Bill sold the cottage just this summer and moved into town. He made it possible that people could live year round on the north shore. He was always around to help all. Rest In Peace George, Tom and Bill, you are greatly missed by all.
I must say , Lone Maple has the BEST guests, really we do. We can count on them to take cancellations, help out, never leave a mess and they are quiet fire pit people. The greatest part is they all become friends.
I must mention a special thanks to Vicki, my daughter's mother in law. For two years she has groomed our hair! We now have a Lone Maple Spa day! She is a retired teacher, but can cut hair, she cleaned us all up. Vicki is awesome.
We are proud to say we have guests returning for 49,30, 25, 15, 10, 7 and 2 years. Thank you so very much. We look forward to your arrival in 2023! Have a safe winter.. All the Best.
Sincerely and with love,
Kerstin, Wayne and the Lone Maple Gang
