Wenonah is trusted by families from across Canada and around the world. We have welcomed thousands of campers of all ages and experiences to our site in Muskoka, Ontario. Fostering community, independence, personal development, and an appreciation and respect for the natural world are at the heart of “what we do” at Wenonah. At Wenonah, we offer a popular overnight Summer Camp experience for boys

and girls aged 5 – 17 years. Most campers attend Camp for two or four weeks, though many others choose to experience Camp for the first time through our 3 – 7 day introductory Camp programs. In addition to our popular Summer Camp programs, we are also home to The Camp Wenonah Centre for Outdoor Education. Each Spring and Fall, school and community groups visit Wenonah for outdoor experiences that challenge and stimulate participants of every age and experience through a traditional outdoor education centre model. Our Women’s Weekend programs, held in September each year, are a destination for hundreds of women. Offering a mix of favourite Camp-style activities as well as speciality workshops facilitated by acclaimed instructors, Women’s Weekends make for the perfect Fall getaway! All Wenonah programs operate with the same mission
statement:

As we officially close for the 2024 season after a fantastic six months at Camp, we are incredibly grateful to the thousands of campers, Outdoor Centre participants and our staff for making this year so memorable ❤️

Only 185 days until we open for the 2025 season…the countdown is on!

annnnd that’s a wrap on the fall season at Wenonah Outdoors! 🍁🌲

Hosting School Groups, Corporate Retreats, Women’s Weekends and more, this fall was packed with fun - We played wide games in costumes, danced on the Sport Court, took morning dips in Clear Lake, made memories at East-Point Campfire, and even invented a new greeting method for 3x the waving efficiency! (Slide 9 😮‍💨)

Thank you for a fantastic few weeks and a huge thank you to our amazing Wenonah Outdoors Staff Team for bringing the energy all season ❤️

Excited to kick off the Fall Wenonah Outdoors season with our first group—welcome, St. Anne’s! 🍂✨

Fall at Wenonah is always something special. From team-building adventures to immersive nature experiences, we love welcoming school, community, and corporate groups to explore Muskoka’s beauty, learn new skills, and connect in the heart of nature.

We’re also looking forward to hosting two Women’s Weekends and celebrating three special events this season!

People think all we do is go on canoe trips. 🏕️ 🛶 ☀️

For some campers, the destination may be Saw Lake for an overnight canoe trip with their cabin group. For POLARIS participants, 7-day trips in Algonquin Park are unforgettable experiences. 🌲

If they go on a canoe trip, Wenonah campers paddle and portage, enjoy cookouts, and sleep in a tent. They also learn leadership and problem solving skills, create lifelong memories, and have a whole lot of fun!!

Welcome back Fernanda! 👩‍🍳

We are just so thrilled that Fernanda Muñiz returns to Wenonah as our Director of Food Service and Executive Chef for this year and beyond.

Fernanda is a seasoned culinary professional with a passion for cooking that began for her growing up in Querétaro, México. Her journey into the culinary world started with summer cooking classes at the age of ten, sparking a fascination with the art of gastronomy.

Fernanda earned a Bachelors degree as an Executive Chef in 2007. Throughout her time at school, she gained invaluable practical experience by immersing herself in various restaurant settings within her city and also undertaking professional training in Argentina for three years.

She has extensive experience working with food service teams at camps throughout Ontario. She also broadened her culinary horizons at the Art of Living Ashram in Québec, delving into the intricacies of Indian and vegetarian cuisine.

Under Fernanda's leadership, this year is sure to feature even more great food throughout our Summer Camp, Outdoor Education, and Women's Weekend seasons. We're already hungry as we think about it!

Meet Associate Director Jason Monteith! Jason is also a high school teacher with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board, and brings 35 years of Camp staff experience to his role at Wenonah. Why does Jason return to Camp year after year? He is inspired by Wenonah campers, and admires how important Camp is to them.
