Come explore a beautiful new lake in North Frontenac with us!! Just a two hour drive from Ottawa and Kingston or one hour from Renfrew and Arnprior lies one of Ontario's best hidden gems, with absolutely stunning turquoise water, waiting for you! We'll have a limited supply of canoes and kayaks available this Saturday, June 1st from 2PM to 8PM and Sunday from 9 AM to 3PM. If you need a boat, you must reserve in advance! Also, you'll need to obtain $12.50 Vehicle Access Permit for each vehicle, here:
https://www.onressystems.com/vendors/northfrontenac/roadpermit.asp . A vehicle with decent ground clearance is recommended as access is possible via dirt road, through the forest.

Algonquin Park's Backcountry Camping Reopens Today — Ontario Parks announced this morning that Algonquin Park's backcountry will reopen for camping starting today (April 12, 2024) with some restrictions, see https://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/news/2024/2024-04-12_backcountry_reopening.php

Algonquin Park's backcountry previously closed to camping from March 31 to May 2, 2024, for the spring thaw, is reopening three weeks earlier than planned. Algonquin Park backcountry camping, including canoeing and backpacking, will be available for camping starting April 12, 2024. Algonquin Park's Backcountry to Reopen Tomorrow — Ontario Parks has announced that Algonquin Park's backcountry will reopen more than two weeks earlier than previously anticipated. Reservations will now be available for some backcountry areas as of April 26, 2023, see https://www.algonquinpark.on.ca/visit/camping/backcountry-reservations.php Ontario Parks reports that nine backcountry access points will remain closed as a result of poor road conditions and/or flooding. Additional backcountry access points and secondary roads will require use of a four wheel drive vehicle for access because of snow, ice, potholes, washouts, and/or flooded roadways. Several trails and a picnic ground are also closed.
