We've just returned from the first packtrip of the season, The Alberta Drifter
A tiny reel can't capture the experience, but it can attempt. This is just the smallest sample of this special ride, traveling through the foothills, into the Rockies then to the sparsely populated prairies and finishing in the Cypress Hills (the highest elevation east of the Rockies, in Canada to the Torngat Mountains) 😎
This was an incredibly heart filling trip for everyone one of us for the best reasons & we could not have imagined a more spectacular group of riders to share these places and this time with ❤️
❤️ you know who you are ❤️
First time in the mountains this season, still lots of snow out there. Even in the valley bottom, some of the higher elevation objectives will be out of reach for a bit longer, hopefully only a few days 🤞.
A mountain day ride will take you to places less frequently visited and often hidden from the crowds, with sure-footed horses and rewarding scenic views 🤠
May 1 brings our mountain riding season in 🤠 We've transitioned to our summer hours and activities and are, as always, excited to see and experience the Canadian Rocky Mountains 😍
There are lots of trails to explore and ride, with rewarding scenery and mesmerizing moments of time with horses.
Looking forward to seeing where the summer takes us this season 🤠😎
And just like that it's August!! And we're halfway through the 2023 summer season 🤠
We're so grateful for such an incredible first half of the season, with fantastic riders and great weather (except for a few soaking storms here and there) and our trusty equine partners ❤️
From the prairies to the mountains we've covered a lot of ground, and we're incredibly excited for the rest of the summer and all the trails we'll get to see in August and September.
In just under a month, we'll be embarking on our first packtrip of the 2023 season: The Alberta Drifter 🤠
This ride takes in some of the highlights of the Canadian Rockies, and the less visited but equally beautiful sprawling landscape of the Alberta prairie. Rich in geologic and human history, we're thrilled for this incredible ride that kickstarts our packtrip season.
It is an awe-inspiring journey that takes us past old homesteads, long forgotten teepee rings and through some of the least visited parts of Alberta, all the while on our confident and athletic horses, with knowledgeable and passionate guides.
We're so excited for this trip and to share our memories of it when we're back from the ride early June 🤠

Join us at Moose Mountain Horseback Ranch as we guide you on an interpretive snowshoe walk through the forest to a private lake. Bring your skates for an old fashion family pond skate, then gather round the fire for some hot beverages, bannock and laughs. We provide the snowshoes, you bring the energy.
We were out grooming the track around the lake yesterday. It drifted in again today, so I guess we’ll be back at it tomorrow.
Escape the winter doldrums and enjoy the beauty of winter at the ranch. Gather your friends, family or work colleagues this winter for some fresh air, fun and camaraderie.

Opening the pasture in June is always a spectacle! Happy horses ready for an exciting season 🤠
Opening the pasture in early June is always a spectacle! Happy horses excited for the summer season!
This morning the horses seem to have overslept their alarm so I walked out to call them in. I got rewarded by them cantering past, like people who realize they are late for work.
