New regulations for international students have taken effect:

• If you’re eligible, you can now work up to 24 hours per week off campus while your classes are in session.
• If you want to change learning institutions, you’ll need to apply and be approved for a new study permit.

Ontario's minimum wage will rise later this year to $17.20 an hour. The annual Oct. 1 increase is tied to inflation and is a boost of 3.9 per cent from the current rate of $16.55 per hour.

IRCC announces the cut in the International study permit applications for 2024.

This will be a temporary 2-year cap.

The total quota for 2024 is 360,000 approved study permits a decrease of 35% from 2023.
Quotas will be allocated province-wise based on the population.
