Many people are confused with the announcement regarding IELTS band requirement in SDS - Study permit after Aug 10. So here is the simple translation
If you’re applying after the 10th August 2023, all you need is an overall band score of 6.0 on IELTS Academic.

If you’re applying with IELTS Academic before 10th August 2023, you’ll need IELTS 6.0 in each skill.

If you’re applying with IELTS General Training, you will need a 6.0 in each skill, before and after 10th August 2023

Currently, students must retake the entire test for all four modules: listening, reading, writing, and speaking. So, if a student wants to improve their band score, they will have to take the whole test again instead of only retaking the module.​​

How the new NOC TEER system affects existing express entry profiles

From November 15, 2022, until December 31, 2023, international students who are in Canada and who have off-campus work authorization on their study permit will not be restricted by the 20-hour-per-week rule. Foreign nationals who have already submitted a study permit application, as of today, will also be able to benefit from this temporary change, provided their application is approved.

Employers are facing unprecedented challenges in finding and retaining the workers they need during this period of economic recovery and growth. The Government of Canada is continuing to take concrete actions to address current labour needs.
