Off again to teach Zumba at the Grand River Community Health Centre for our FITabulous Dance Fit class.
Then back at James Hillier for Phys. Ed this afternoon, followed by a few vocal students and then we’re stepping back in time and grooving to GREASE with the Brantford Cabaret back at the Grand River Centre.
An entire day SINGING & DANCING … my smile is massive!

Well ... I never had this on my bingo card for 2024 --- but through a series of happy events -- such as my brother's elopement and the wedding of a dear friend -- and then coupled with the shocking realization that someone I love like a daughter was barred from finding someone to solemnize their wedding ... I set out on a warp speed journey of spiritual enlightenment and began travelling down a totally unexpected path towards a new horizon of opportunities ...
So ... folks, as shocking as this is (even for me) -- I am very proud to announce that I now have a new title to add to my name.
I am now a Pastoral Chaplain for Weddings and a Licensed Officiant.
Keith is calling me CHAPPY!!!
I can't do any weddings until my license comes from Service Ontario (should be about 4 weeks) but I can certainly take bookings for November 2024 and onwards ...
We're a VERY inclusive and progressive Chaplaincy -- and we welcome EVERYbody who seeks Matrimony and is legally entitled to wed in Ontario.
So ... I'm hanging out my shingle ...

And ... there's BLUES being crackeringly played in my basement -- the ENTIRE band is here -- it's so freaking DELICIOUS ...
WOWzers -- so excited to hear and see the entire unit back for the first time in 5 years.
Brad on drums, Jamie on Bass, Bill on Lead, Dan on Key/Rhythm and moi -- on happy happy belting vocals.
HOLY FRIJOLES -- it's the GREATEST sound EVER. Ken Shipman your HEAD will explode .... MY GAWD it's beyond fabulous!!!!

My post of the day. I spent 5 hours at the For The Love of ButterTarts Festival festival … singing and hanging out.
Guess what I ate? 2 rice cakes and edamane beans.
Always Moving Towards Better!!! Sticking to plan … not even a sample.
Super packed event … nice to see some local Brantford & area folks out.
Thoroughly enjoyed entertaining!!!

For those of you trekking off to Elmira SATURDAY for the world famous For The Love of ButterTarts Festival - be sure to drop by the entertainment section as I will be performing solo from 10am - 1pm and belting out hits and a whole bunch of kid's songs too!! I'll also be emceeing the event.
The event starts at 10am and goes until 4pm. Last year, we had over 5000 people through -- get there early to avoid disappointment. Keith will be walking around sampling all of the goodies!!!

Hey Line Dancers -- in checking the Weather reports -- they all say clear by 5pm for the rest of the evening. It's 3:30pm now on Monday July 15th, so as of RIGHT NOW -- we're a go for 6pm Line Dancing.
We CAN close the side panels too -- if needed, but I think (and hope) we should be just fine.

We are very proud and pumped to announce our Judging Team and present ... Brant Has What It Takes Talent Contest & Show --
The entertainment extravaganza of the summer commences THIS upcoming Wednesday July 17th in Burford at the Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall, 181 King Street. We kick things off for first-round auditions from 6pm - 8:30pm. Admission is $5/person, children and contestants are free.
There is still time to register to compete: Junior, Teen and Adult Categories -- Singers, Dancers, Musicians, Novelty Acts. Grand prizes include spots at the Burford Fair, Addi Fest, Trophies, Ribbons, and gifts.
No fee to register.

It's the last day of June. Rather than focusing on life's upsets during this month (and there's been many) I'm going to focus on the victories (and there's been many).
I conclude this very triumphant yet turbulent month with a gift—the gift of LIFE. The gift of LIVING -- and it is a gift. One we are given and it is up to US to preserve that life. It is my dialled-in commitment that I give myself and I owe myself that I am going live today, tomorrow and every day after that, with one goal -- "No matter what life throws at you -- LIVE!!!"
A friend of mine sent this photo to me taken on October 18th, 2023. She, too is a "sister-of-the-flesh" and it was a gift to inspire me to keep fighting, to keep strong. I compared it with the recent photo of me from June 18th, 2024 and the result is -- a validation.
If you conceive it and believe it -- you can achieve it.
I may only be half-way there, but I'm all the way back to where I belong ...

Brantford Line Dancing, Line Dancing Brantford, Joan Minnery's Dance Fitness will be ON the floor tomorrow at Sassy Britches Brewing Co. Ltd for their first LINE DANCING workshop.
This is a two (2) hour Master Class -- and will feature Country and Latin Beats as well as some Pop rhythms. We are delighted to be the teachers on this first-time event. It is by tickets only -- and there's a few spots left, so if you'd like to join us Tuesday at 6:30pm, please contact the Brewery and sign up.

To all of our Waterloo/Kitchener fans/friends and my WLU classmates-- our band SIVLE is performing THIS Saturday in the Neighbours Day Porch Fest.
We will be performing from 2pm - 3pm at 423 Alice Ave and then from 5pm - 6pm at 379 Glasgow Street in the City of Kitchener
This is a CITY-WIDE music fest where solo acts, duets and bands entertain on people's front lawns, porches, driveways or the sidewalk in many neighbourhoods across Kitchener. All concerts are FREE, please bring a lawn-chair and friends!!!

REGISTRATIONS ARE NOW OPEN!!!
If you'd like to sign up for the Brant Has What It Takes - Talent Contest ... we are now taking audition registrations.
The contest begins Wednesday July 17th at 6pm, and then continues every Wednesday night, 6pm - 9pm in the Blessed Sacrament Parish Hall, 181 King Street, Burford.
Contest slated to run every Wednesday from July 17th to the end of August. Auditions/Prelims, Quarters, Semis, Finals.
We're accepting solos, duets and small groups.
THREE Divisions:
Junior: 5-12
Teen: 13-17
Adult: 18+
Singers, Dancers, Musicians, Comedians, Novelty Acts.
*Only ONE entry per person.
Open to residents of Brantford, Brant County and Six Nations.
There is no cost to enter. $5/person for audience members.
