Brighton, Ontario has a rich apple production history dating back over 120 years. Back in 1898 the orchard keepers of the apple industry in the town of Brighton provided 70,000 barrels (the size of wine barrels) to (not only Canada) as far away as Liverpool and Glasgow. Today, while not as robust, the town of Brighton still maintains a proud apple production heritage. This includes Applefest, as well as the pick-your-own apple orchards in the area. A short drive from UberHaus is Cricklewook Farms along Hwy 2. Until November 6, visit their orchard that boasts various apple varieties, pumpkins and raspberries. If pick-your-own is not your style, get lost in one, two or both of their corn mazes. A great way to spend an afternoon with family and friends.

Just 90 minutes east of Toronto and 3 hours west of Ottawa. The Bay of Quinte & it's many inlets treat anglers to a walleye world & feisty pickerel, perch & pike. Just across the road from UberHaus, you can put your boat in the water & head out for the day. When the bays freeze over, make it a multi-day ice fishing getaway. The fishing is legendary and winter does not disappoint.

It's been a great summer here at Uberhaus. We enjoyed hosting all of our guests and being their home away from home as they explored our beautiful neck of the woods. As the summer season winds down and fall creeps in, there is still plenty to see and explore at this time of year. The crisp, cool weather and changing colors of the leaves make Fall a great time to get away to our cottage retreat. Come and have an outdoor adventure or unwind and relax.
