Please slow down, especially while driving through wetland areas.

I hate posting these pics. But it’s necessary.

Heartbreaking.

This Least Bittern was found by the old property down by Presqu’ile by owner Doug McRae. A Momma.

These birds tend to fly low over Presqu’ile Parkway as is their habit to do so as they search for food. This one didn’t make it as it was obviously hit by a car.

Traffic has only increased down in that area and I can only plead from a distance to please slow down and watch for wild life. This is the time for turtles too, looking for space to lay their eggs.

It’s much easier to go slow and enjoy the scenery, and be able to brake for those that don’t have chance to get out of the way of humanity.

An excellent turn out for purplepalooza, an annual trip to Gull island, Presqu'ile park looking for Purple Sandpipers. We didn't find any Purple Sandpipers, but it was great meeting new people and getting caught up with friends. A Snowy Owl, Rough-legged Hawk, Bald Eagle, Horned Grebes, and a flock Snow Buntings were highlights.
