Situated in the heart of the fabulous Kawartha Lakes tourism area, Shady Bay RV Park offers a quiet park, a great place to relax. We offer large trailer sites, with 30 amps of power, in shaded or semi-shaded areas. All sites have fire pit & picnic table. You can walk in the trail; go for a swim in our heated outdoor pool or hot tub. We have an outdoor pavilion, kid’s playground, shuffleboard, and holey board, recreation building with satellite TV, laundromat, clean washrooms, library, and free wifi. We have activities and events organized by volunteers throughout the season.

Nearby Peterborough offers the excitement of the city, several lakes and provincial parks. We're also a short distance from both Lakefield (10 minutes away) and Buckhorn (5 minutes away), each offering boat docking, lift lock, sandy beach, arts/crafts shows, boutiques and restaurants.

We're also located only a few minutes away from four golf courses in the area.

Happy Winter from the Buckhorn Log Cabin! The house is all booked up for weekends in February (week day are wide open!). March break is still available! PM Janis Williams Showers for a special rate for March break. We got a new dart board - many great games were played on the old one! We have some new board games, new batteries for the Wei and a new foam topper for the trundle bed. We have lots of wood, come up and enjoy the big outdoor fire pit or cozy up by the indoor fireplace. We were recently awarded an Airbnb favorite and Superhosts for the 4th year in a row.

What a nice review we just received! AND the Bobcaygeon property happens to be open this weekend! Just 5mins from the lake.

Janis' cottage was a dream vacation stay. The photos provided in the listing provide the viewer exactly with what they need to know with the space. Cottage, when checking in, was easy and clean. Janis was a spectacular host with her quick response time as well as her accommodation to my friends and I. Janis went out of her way to purchase another portable fan for my stay. Truly a spectacular host. Another thing that this cottage has that most in the area don't is a secluded yard surrounded by lots of hedges and trees. If you are looking for privacy while being outside this is definitely the place for you.

The Bobcaygeon Cottage is still open for Mothers Day! And we have a $499 special for the whole weekend! You could spend that on dinner, come use our BBQ instead!

Here's a review we loved:
Janis’ property is huge (much bigger than in pictures). There was so much outdoor space to enjoy and I loved making a fire and roasting marshmallows at night. The access to the beach was super easy, a 5 minute walk and then a super clear and shallow lake that my 2 year old son loved! I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to get away and unwind. A true hidden gem!

At the Bobcaygeon cottage Dogs have their own room with a split door to peak out of. Come visit with your pup, go for a walk to the lake and enjoy the cozy fireplace. Weekends available! PM for a doggy special. 🐕

Even though we call it a cottage, the Bobcaygeon house is fully insulated and is a year round getaway. It has lake access, a big fire pit and is 10 minutes from Bobcaygeon.

What a nice review we received from the guests this weekend!

The cottage was beautiful, functional, and spacious. It has a log cabin feel with the fire place and cottage style but modern amenities like fast wifi, in-ceiling speakers, and good heating. The games area around the corner allows for seperation of space so the house doesn't feel crowded. The kitchen was fully stocked and functional. They didn't cheap out on supplies other things you might need in the kitchen. Some airbnbs only give you 5 of everything if it's for 5 people, which sucks and is super cheap Janis was very responsive and helpful. They dropped off cookies when the coffee maker was acting up a little which is a nice touch. The price was very fair for what you got. It was a fantastic experience overall. Highly recommend to bigger groups
