Avoid the Second Shovel! ☃️

Nobody likes clearing their driveway twice after the plow comes through! Here’s a simple trick to save yourself some effort:
❄️ Shovel snow to the RIGHT side of your driveway (as you face the road).
👉 This helps prevent the plow from pushing snow back into your freshly cleared space.
❄️ Create a "snow pocket" on the LEFT side of your driveway.
👉 By clearing a small space here, the plow will dump most of the snow into this pocket instead of blocking your driveway.

Sometimes a little trick can save you a lot of extra work! Stay warm and enjoy the snow this winter season! ☃️💙

SKETCHBOOK: White-throated Sparrow
/ Graphite
/ 8.25" x 11"
White-throated Sparrows show up in our area during their migration to nesting grounds farther north, and again in the fall on their return trip. I've seen and heard them many times in Algonquin Park, and I tend to associate them in that environment even more-so than here at home. Perhaps it is because my first experience with them was while growing up in Whitney, just outside the eastern entrance to the park. It may also be their song, made more dramatic when heard far off the beaten path when I was a ranger ... a lilting 'old Sam Peabody Peabody Peabody', as some field guides interpret it. In any case it is the native sparrow that I have painted and sketched more than any other.
