Apologies to anyone who may have come to Buckhorn District Tourist Welcome Centre today to do their Christmas shopping. The power outage was extended to 1:45pm which meant our heating system was out for over 5 hours. We decided not to open today.

HOWEVER we will open on Friday December 20 from 11am to 4pm; Saturday December 21 from 11am to 4pm and Sunday, December 22 from 12pm to 4pm for your shopping convenience.

Spaces Still Available for Jackrabbit and Track Attack Programs – Register by Tuesday, December 17!

Kawartha Nordic’s Jackrabbit and Track Attack programs still have limited spots open. Jackrabbit Learn-to-Ski classes are designed for youth aged 4–14 and cater to both beginners and more experienced skiers, with groups tailored to skill level. Track Attack focuses on learning skate ski technique. Sessions take place on Saturdays in January and February, offering skill-building, outdoor adventure, games, and a whole lot of fun.

Don’t miss out—registration closes on Tuesday, December 17. Participants will need a Kawartha Nordic season pass and ski equipment. A limited number of rentals are available.
