๐ Guests enjoyed listening to Dr. Rick Monture discuss the history of the Six Nations Confenderacy, the Haudenosaunee Confederacy Chiefs Council and the Grand River Navigation Company.

20 days to opening day! The Grand River Queen and Grand River Princess were launched this week and Grand River Belle will be launched this weekend. Our check list of things to do before opening day is getting shorter....

This usually happens in March but not too often in January. The creek did finally freeze a few weeks ago and you can still see a bit of the ice is still there. We'll see what the groundhog says in a few days if we'll have more winter โ๏ธโ

It's beginning to look like Christmas at the Caledonia Santa Claus Parade! Thank you to the volunteers and participants for getting us in the Christmas spirit ๐๐

Off-Season Update: This week was dry dock week. All three boats are high and dry now. After winterizing the boats, the winter work begins primarily on the Grand River Belle. Our heated workshop allows us to work on her all winter long. Among many other jobs, a new roof and railings will be the major work.

Off-Season Update: Most of the month of October is spent packing everything away for the winter. Items like dishes, life jackets, fire extinguishers etc. are removed from the boats and put in storage. Everything in the kitchen is stored in a safe place. The kitchen building itself is moved to high ground to protect it from spring flooding. The final big step is dry docking the boats. That's planned for next week. We'll post an update on that later.
