We finally got our hands on some beer from in Sherwood Park, Alberta.

The Marzen was the official beer of Oktoberfest for 120 years before it was replaced by Festbier.

Traditionally, German versions of this style are lighter in colour, while North American ones are more amber, as seen in the image.

The Marzen has a pretty cool backstory as we covered in our recent article about this years from . Our profile tree has a link to it if you care to check it out.

Now, if you don't mind, we are going to go enjoy this super tatsy brew.

Tuesday Nights Are Alright for hitting a couple of breweries, a distillery, and enjoying super tasty appies and pizzas.

Tonight, our guests from around western Canada said it was too hard to pick a single highlight, but the Jalapeño Pilsner , the real ale and the Honey Rum and Queen Bee Pizza and @ were standouts. Thanks to all the teams for being so great to work with.

That's a wrap, and a donair, and a taco and a skewer and a full tummy of meat and beer for those who attended .

Some fantastic restaurants dished out some seriously great meat based items while the smell of smoke and bbq filled the air.

kept everyone moving in the surprisingly warm temperatures and , and kept everyone cool.

We had a great time slinging tasty brew and can't wait for next year!

Perhaps our favourite picture so far this year! This beautiful group of friends and family chose to share their stagette with us on a Calgary Distillery Tour, and we are not 100% sure, but we think they enjoyed themselves. 🍸🍾

Great Saturday night for a company function! These pilots were flying around town to visit some of the best craft producers in the city.

is always a fav with their aromatic aging room, full distillery tour, and award winning spirits. Being the first to sample a new line of Brandy was a real treat.

pulled out all the stops to create a mini wine festival complete with individual pairing stations, a tour of how they make wine, and a sample of wine straight out of the tank. Nice touch!

is another fan favorite with their Canafian gold medal beers, adherance to the Reinheitsgebot, and fantatsic semi automated brewery.

From Ireland to Calgary. We sure enjoyed this lovely family who were getting 'locked' (as they say in Ireland apparently) on a custom wine and beer tour last night.

First stop for some locally crafted wines, meats, cheese, and educational look at how wine is being made there.

Stop two at the 2021 Canadian Brewery of the Year where the Solsbury Hill Pub Ale measured up to CAMRA standards.

Lastly, it was the insanely busy and awesome who were celebrating with their grand opening in Killarney. We also had a quick educational walk-through of their shiney new brewery.

Happy Surprise Birthday to Greg! His wonderful wife surprised him (and his friends) with a curated Calgary Brewery Tour.

The wonderful folks gave the group a tour of their new10M$ brewery and served some awesome beers and food.

Greg and his buds also enjoyed excellent brews and nuts and even got to meet the head brewer/co owner.

Lastly, since Greg lives in the south, we showed him a spot close to his house that he never knew about, . On top of being 2023 New Alberta Brewery of the Year, Stony also makes awesome homemade bread, butter, and ricotta cheese that is a must try.

We even ran into some players while there.
