Every year Divisionals seems to creep up faster and faster and before we know it, we are in the final preparation stage for National Championships! This past weekend we had just over 60 💚💛CCC💚💛 athletes compete in Regina at the Divisional Championships. Our U16 and up squad competed for lanes at the National Championships. Thank you to for hosting and to our parent volunteers and coaches for supporting our athletes at home and at competition. Thank you for capturing our team on the water. Next stop, Welland!

Float more boats: Silent Auction has started! This auction proceeds will be going to our Youth Sprint Canoe Kayak Team and will directly support by providing fund for new boats, paddles and training equipment from new paddlers to our experienced paddlers. Head to our website for all the details!

We are so proud to send Justin Boyko and Julia Demchuk off to represent Team Canada.
Justin will be competing at Jr. Worlds July 17-21 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.
He will also be competing at the Olympic Hopes Regatta in Budapest, Hungary from September 5-8.
Julia will be competing at U23 World Championships from July 17-31 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

Clean out your closets for Calgary Canoe Club!- Outrigger Fundraiser, Drop off May 4. We Are Collecting:

Clothes - men’s, women’s, & children’s clothes, coats, shoes, scarves, handbags, wallets, fashion accessories, belts, backpacks, etc.
Household Textiles - bedding, comforters, blankets, sheets, towels, linen, tablecloths, curtains, pillows, etc.
Small Household Goods - kitchen items (such as pots/pans, dishes, silverware, glasses, serving pieces and hand-held appliances), home decorative items, knick-knacks, toys, games, and small electronics
Books & Media - paperback, hard cover - all genres, *media needs to be boxed separately *no encyclopedias or text books

We are so incredibly proud of all of our athletes who participated in our 2-week intro Florida camp; this camp lays the framework of many multiple week training camps ahead in a young person’s training journey. Abigail Ndegwa, one of our female kayakers, recently shared her experience as a first time participant in our Florida training camp. We are so excited for the growth and development of our young generation and the reflective leadership they bring to our team!

Our first bottle drive of 2024 was our biggest bottle drive to date with over $1,700 for the youth sprint athletes and 178 lbs of non-perishable food being donated to the Veterans food Bank. Thank you for donating sausages to feed the athletes/parents while they ran around collecting bottles. Thank you Lakeview community and our canoe club members for all the bottle donations. Next bottle drive is Feb 24!

This Saturday, Jan 6th we are having a bottle and non-perishable food drive. We will be in the CCC parking lot from 9am-230pm to drop of these items. All bottle drive proceeds will be going to these athletes directly and the food items to Veteran’s Food Bank. Link in profile for more info.

We did it. We surpassed ourselves. While the journey of athleticism is truly about the process, it is always nice to know that the work done well pays off. Each day our athletes are tested on their discipline, their ability to execute a plan, focus, stamina and willingness to simply do what it takes with no shortcuts or ‘buts’. The work pays off.

Boat bay duties include landscaping, equipment repairs and assisting members and the public with equipment. Must be available evenings and weekends.
