Okay... So, for a generally non-egotistical person, calling this creative adventure "The Alice" probably seems a bit weird... but having carried what I have thought of as a slightly out of step name for my entire life, "The Alice" seemed to quite suit my 50's duplex. Alice's were my grandmother's friends... or crusty old doll's in uniforms at airport cafeterias - when they had cafeterias...and/or

my unorthodox Aunt after whom I was named. Truth is it seems like "The Alice" is just a cool name to call an updated 50's building sporting a new life, a new dream and above all an adventure in a wonky but delightful dream of sharing my Calgary with who ever wants to experience it. I have stayed in many Airbnb's and the culture of sharing, welcoming and allowing those that come and stay to pretend for a time that they are here - citizens of my world, belonging in my world, sharing in my world is a gift that I, as a many generation Calgarian can give.
