Did you know? You can't tell whether a Woodland Caribou is male or female by its antlers, because both males and females grow them. They can grow up to 1 inch per day, and Caribou eat their antlers after they've shed them!

The caribou has been on the Canadian Quarter since 1936 - these days, they are a threatened species. There's approximately 15 herds of Woodland Caribou in Alberta, and herds are typically comprised of 10-25 animals.

I am happiest outside doing anything. Although hiking and biking are high on my fun list, so why not put them together? Hike-a-Bike – The act of taking one’s bike for a walk. It usually confirms I’m on a ridiculously adventurous route if I can’t ride the bike, which probably means, it’s the exact place I want to be. If for some crazy reason I’m not playing in the wilderness, then I read travel memoirs or immerse myself in pages of memories while I document past trips. I am an author and a voracious reader able to spend entire days in a coffee shop, tucked in a corner with my journals, maps, books and an unlimited supply of coffee.

“My name is Randi Klein, I use they/them pronouns and I identify as trans non-binary! This means I do not identify with the gender I was assigned at birth and I don’t have a comfortable home in either a female or male specific gender role. I am the in-between, of both worlds and neither, far broader in the wide realm of q***rness as gender and identity is so much more like a tree of possibilities to me than a linear, binary system. Operating within this system however, I am often associated with my birth gender based off of my biological characteristics and many people when they interact with me see me as a ‘woman’ or a ‘female’. For myself on International Women’s Day, I want to stand as an ally to women-identifying folx, inside and out of the q***r community.”
