Attention Canadian citizens and permanent residents – beware of marriage fraud! It’s a crime for you and a foreign applicant to set up what’s known as a “marriage of convenience” to allow your sponsored spouse or common-law partner to immigrate to Canada. Immigration officers know how to detect false marriages, and there are serious criminal charges. Avoid scams and learn the rules for sponsoring a spouse: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/protect-fraud.html

Document fraud is a serious crime in Canada.

It is against the law to lie or send false information or documents to IRCC. It’s called misrepresentation and can involve either falsifying or altering documents, such as:
• Passports and travel documents
• Visas
• Diplomas, degrees and apprenticeship or trade papers
• Certificates of birth, marriage, final divorce, annulment, separation or death
• Police certificates

You are responsible for all the information in your application, even if a representative fills it out for you. If you send false documents or information, we can refuse your application and forbid you from entering Canada for at least 5 years, among other consequences.

Learn what happens if you give false information: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/protect-fraud/consequences-fraud.html

Four of the most vibrant glacier-fed lakes in the Canadian Rockies.

Any one of these lakes makes for a good starting point if you’re visiting the National Parks in Alberta or Eastern British Columbia for the first time. We made it a point to check out each of them the last time we were there, in addition to taking a drive up the Icefields Parkway, and it made for a really good trip.

(They’re all located in Banff National Park, with the exception of Emerald Lake, which is in Yoho National Park.)

1. Moraine Lake
2. Emerald Lake
3. Peyto Lake
4. Lake Louise

As of February 29, 2024 at 11:30 PM EST, Mexican citizens will need a visa to enter Canada unless they meet certain criteria. Most existing electronic travel authorizations (eTAs) for Mexican passport holders are being cancelled. https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/news/2024/02/updated-travel-information-for-mexican-citizens-coming-to-canada.html

Mexican citizens may reapply for a new eTA if they are flying to Canada and: (1) held a Canadian visitor visa in the last 10 years, or (2) currently hold a valid United States non-immigrant visa. Otherwise, they need a visa.

Mexican citizens with a valid Canadian work or study permit are not affected. Their eTA will not be cancelled and they can continue to travel to Canada.

Mexican citizens without a valid work or study permit who are already in Canada may stay for as long as they are authorized, but their eTA will be cancelled. If they leave Canada and wish to return, they'll need a visa or a new eTA, if eligible.

Mexican travellers may experience delays when arriving at Canadian airports due to the changing entry requirements. More information about what to do if you are a citizen of Mexico planning travel to Canada is available on our website:https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/campaigns/eta-work-visa-mexico.html
