😚 When clients come home raving about their trips it’s like research gold for me!

When it comes to my business, this time of year is usually spent getting clients sorted on their Holiday plans & closing off the year by tying up loose ends. But today officially kicks off my Holiday! For the next few days you’ll find me relaxing with my family and a glass of mulled wine. I’ll be back at my desk on January 2nd!

Staring down those Black Friday travel deals, wondering if you should take the leap and book?

I've been planning travel for 12 years, and I've seen it all - the good, the bad, and the too-good-to-be-true.

Black Friday can definitely mean some great savings, but it's not a one-size-fits-all solution.

Let's break it down:

⏲️ Timing is everything. Black Friday can have some deals, but you really want to be on the lookout all the time (or want an expert like me who can be on the lookout for you!) as hotels, resorts and tour operators release new promotions.

🔎 The Fine Print: I can't stress this enough. You've gotta put a huge magnifying glass on the fine print of these deals because so many come with restrictive travel dates, blackout periods, and even hidden fees. Make sure you play detective before booking anything.

✨️ Personalization matters: Travel is more than about the destination. It's about having experiences that match your desires and preferences, and Black Friday days may be enticing, but they so often lack personalization and customizations. It's a one-size-fits-all situation.

My advice? Don't fall prey to the frenzy and frantically book - take your time to research, plan, and be on the lookout all year for great promotions and offers. 💫

I'm Kelsea - the Founder of , and I've been in this crazy industry for 12 years. As some of you may know, I recently had a baby. His name is Felix, and he is the absolute best!

After taking a short maternity leave, I am back to work part-time, and I'm so excited to share with you that my books are open again!

Besides planning vacations, I am a lover of reading, cooking, and the outdoors. Nature makes my heart SO happy!

✨️ MATERNITY LEAVE ✨️ The time has come, my friends! Our sweet babe is ready to make their appearance any day now! I'm going to be taking a short maternity leave until the fall. Because I am self-employed, I will still be around to assist clients who are currently booked, but I will NOT be taking on any new clients until the fall. I'll be sure to keep you all posted on when my books are open again, and if you really need a holiday, please still connect with me as I have many fabulous industry colleagues I can recommend. If you’ve travelled internationally in your life, you’re probably aware of the hiccups that can happen while exploring the globe!

Going on a holiday with family or friends is supposed to be an amazing experience, and unfortunately despite best efforts things can sometimes still go sideways. Maybe your online check-in is glitching, your baggage doesn’t show, or the transfer included in your package doesn’t show up and you have to take a taxi! These are all very valid reasons to be frustrated but not reasons for your entire trip to be ruined.

This past October, my husband and I were island hopping in Greece when we discovered that our ferry to the next island was cancelled. Our hotels were non-refundable, as were our ferries and we had activities and restaurants already planned. In the moment, I was really frustrated and anxious about what we would do. I’m a planner, and struggle to ‘go with the flow’. After we were able to regroup, check-into a new hotel, and get a car rental – we ended up having one of our BEST days out of the entire trip. We laugh about it now because we created SO many beautiful memories that outweighed our frustrations.

My best advice to you for navigating travel ‘hiccups’ is to always travel with an open heart and mind. It’s so simple, but true. Don’t dwell on whatever it is that happened, and let it ruin your holiday!

Lastly, as your Travel Designer I am here to help you navigate these frustrations pre and post travel. Hiring someone to help you plan your trip means that you have someone in your court if any frustrations arise. ♥️😊
