Big changes are coming! Starting in 2025, the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS) will be required for many travelers visiting the Schengen Area.

🛂 Don’t worry—it’s not a visa, but a simple online authorization for citizens of visa-exempt countries like Canada and the U.S. 🌟

💡 Key things to know:

Costs only €7
Valid for up to 3 years.
Quick online application.
✨ BONUS: A short grace period will be given after the start date to help travelers adjust to this new system.

🌍✈️ Throwback to My First International Trip! ✈️🌍

Recently, while cleaning out our basement, I came across my plane tickets from my very first international adventure—March Break 1990! A group of us had saved up for this trip, our first time traveling without our parents. We had an amazing time… but little did we know, an unexpected adventure was waiting for us.

Our tour company went out of business while we were away—and we had NO idea! 😳 This was long before cell phones, and as naive young travelers, we didn’t think to check for updates at the front desk. The first clue that something was wrong? The day we were supposed to leave, my friend—who, of course, packed last minute—came sprinting down the beach, waving her arms and shouting, "Our plane is leaving in 45 minutes!" 🚨

The plane did leave without us… but luckily, it came back after picking up passengers from the other side of the island. Can you imagine this happening today? This was long before TICO protections existed!

This wild experience is a perfect example of why having a trusted Travel Advisor is so important. If something unexpected happens while you're away, we’re here to help—so you’re never left stranded.

Did you know? 🌍✈️ Starting January 8, 2025, travelers from Canada, the US, and Australia will need to apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before visiting or transiting through the UK! 🇬🇧 The same requirement will extend to European Union citizens beginning April 2, 2025.

💷 The ETA costs £10, is valid for up to 2 years (or until your passport expires), and is easy to apply for online. Don’t forget to plan ahead and get yours before you go!
