Forget spooky season – we’ve spotted alpine larches starting to turn gold in Kananaskis, which means it’s officially golden larch season! We’re expecting it to be extremely busy, so here’s some information to help you make the most of your visit.

✅ Please avoid the Highwood Pass area in Kananaskis. Due to ongoing construction, there will be very limited parking and intermittent closures. Roadside parking will not be permitted.
✅ Check out Chester Lake, Centennial Ridge, Yamnuska, Mt Lorette Ponds, Prairie View or Buller Pass to see larches or other fall foliage in Kananaskis this year.
✅ Make a backup plan in case your initial parking lot is full.
✅ Use designated parking areas instead of parking on the roadway or the shoulder of a primary highway. This provides emergency vehicle access to the area, protects visitors and limits your risk of getting a ticket.
✅ Go early in the morning or mid-week for the best chance of finding a parking spot and avoiding the crowds.
✅ Research your route, pack appropriately, leave an itinerary and carry an emergency communication device and bear spray.

We are deeply saddened to hear about the wildfire devastation in our sister mountain community of Jasper.

We offer our heartfelt condolences to all of those affected by this tragedy.

Throughout the year, proceeds from our Better Lemon Soda go towards supporting our colleagues through unforeseen life challenges. In light of these recent events, we will be donating net proceeds from every sale of this soda through the end of August in all of our locations, in an effort to assist the residents of Jasper impacted by wildfire.
