It was the first Biathlon race of the season. My daughter was happy with her results. The coolest moment for me was seeing the principal of her high school cheering for her and her teammates.

Summer guiding is done and now we ski😀. When you live in an area with 8 months of winter you need to like winter sports. Nordic skiing is amazing exercise.

Today I went for a hike with some girlfriends. One of the nicest moments was we all took a pause (nap) in a bed of moss. This is just what our nervous systems needed. What are you doing to pause these days?

Today I guided a group of 70+ folks from Canmore. It was my biggest day of hiking all summer…2 alpine routes =10km & 550 m up on really challenging terrain. I hope I’m that fit in my 60’s & 70’s.

First day back guiding in Lake O’Hara. It’s still late winter up there. All the alpine high lakes are still frozen. This one is a deep blue which is fascinating because it’s usually green.

Well that was a first. I was guiding a walk along the shore of Moraine Lake and was turned around by a grizzly bear walking along the trail😳. We are about to finish the tour at Lake Louise.

One of the things I love in the winter is teaching XC skiing. Today Trail Sports hosted a full day staff training day. We learned lots of great tips to help people get moving and having fun on the trails at the Canmore Nordic Centre.
