It's been a wild weather week in the Piedmont!

Staff of the Piedmont Triad Visitor Center visited the historic town of Milton, NC for a tour of the new Thomas Day State Historic Site. The familiarization tour included historic churches, the Milton Renaissance Foundation museum, downtown shops, and Heritage Greenway. We strive to keep our staff up to date on new and existing tourism opportunities in North Carolina so they can assist our visitors with their travel questions!

February is Black History Month! Come by the Visitor Center for information on heritage sites to visit throughout the state as well as museums, art galleries and heritage trails that celebrate the African American experience in North Carolina.

Posting a bit late: this is the 2023 Piedmont Triad Visitor Center Christmas Tree! Taking inspiration from North Carolina's official State Bird, the Cardinal, the tree is decked with mostly red ornaments, including handmade pieces from local artisans, red birds, pine cones to represent North Carolina's State tree, and wooden NC shaped ornaments with the names of the major cities in the State. Next year we'll add even more locally made ornaments, and other symbols of the state!

This past weekend the PTVC hosted a kid's ornament "make and take" and hot cocoa bar at the Center as part of the Pelham community's "North Pole comes to North Carolina" festivities at the Pelham Community Center. Thank you to everyone who volunteered and attended!
