A Dozen Cruise Lines that No One has heard of (OK - I have!):
1. Adventure Canada - ice breakers in the Arctic Ocean - from Iceland to Alaska - even some in the Antarctic - this company is home-based!
2. Paul Gaugin - TOTALLY different than #1, Paul Gaugin specializes in small ships in the South Pacific. They have a dive platform off the back of the boat - ah! Paradise!
3. Tauck - with river cruises that are the best of the best and small ships mostly in the Mediterranean - Tauck offers itineraries and shore excursions that no one else does! (They do land tours too, but that is a different list!)
4. A-Rosa - European river cruises... If you want a Christmas MArket cruise in Europe, this is the one for you!
5.American Queen Steamboat Company - just when you thought river cruising was only for Europeans - these ships bring the Old South gentility back to life. Kalaiopies play and the old ships (that have been completely modernized in their works but still look like they did 150 years ago) ease their way up the Mississippi (or one of the tributaries) - truly an unique experience!
6. Oceania - A more main-stream cruise line, Oceania offers some very unique itineraries. With fares at 2-for-1, free airfare from Vancouver, and free gratuities on certain sailings, these prices are hard to beat! 6-star luxury for 4-star prices!
7. MSC - another mainstream cruise line, MSC offers fabulous prices and great itineraries in the Caribbean, Mediterranean and most other oceans.

9. Quark - head to the exact opposite pole, Quark offers Antarctic cruises
10. AmaWaterways - Another river cruise company, AmaWaterways offers some very unique destinations including Africa, Russia, and Asia as well as some fantastic themed cruises including chocolate, wine, breast cancer awareness and Jewish themed cruises.
11. Azamara - This small ship cruise line offers ports the big guys can't get into. They do more overnights, longer stays and night touring as well.
12. Seabourn - for ultimate luxury, no one touches Seabourn! Experience ultimate first-class travel that rivals nothing else!
