Cobourg’s annual Christmas Magic event lit up the town, bringing festive cheer and a strong sense of community spirit.

The evening began with Storytime with Santa at the Readers' Nook, where children and families gathered to hear magical holiday tales. Nearby, the Holiday Market in Rotary Harbourfront Park welcomed visitors with its charming selection of unique gifts, handmade crafts, and festive treats, making it a highlight of the night.

Excitement reached its peak during the grand lighting of Victoria Hall, as the historic building illuminated in brilliant holiday colours. Deputy Mayor Nicole Beatty addressed the crowd, expressing her joy at celebrating the season with her family and the broader Cobourg community. Her heartfelt remarks set the perfect tone for the evening, showcasing the town’s close-knit spirit.

After the lighting ceremony, attendees joined the magical lighted walk down Second Street. Participants received fulight-up glasses in exchange for donations to the Northumberland Fare Share Food Bank. The glasses added a playful and memorable touch to the walk.

The festivities continued with live music from the Vinyl Groovz, whose upbeat holiday tunes and more created an energetic and joyful atmosphere. Adding to the charm of the night were horse-drawn wagon rides by Top Notch Horse Drawn Carriage Service, offering families a nostalgic way to take in the beautifully decorated streets, Victoria Park and enjoy the crisp air.

From its heartwarming moments to its dazzling displays, Christmas Magic was a true celebration of Cobourg’s community spirit. The event brought together families, friends, and neighbours to share in the joy of the holiday season, making it a night to remember.🎄🪄

The CPKC Holiday Train returns for its 26th year supporting food banks and food shelves across Canada by raising money, food and awareness for food insecurity issues. Since its inception in 1999, the CPKC Holiday Train has raised more than $22.5 million and more than 5 million pounds of food for community food banks across North America.

The Holiday Train will travel through (not stopping) the Town of Cobourg, Ontario on Friday, November 29 leaving Brighton at 12:15 p.m.

The exhibition offers not just a magisterial statement on the outstanding quality of Quebec painting, but also a glimpse into the heart and soul of a culture, seen through the eyes of her most beloved and foundational artists. The survey includes works by William Brymner, Ozias Leduc, James Wilson Morrice, Henrietta Mabel May, Robert Pilot, Marc-Aurèle de Foy Suzor-Coté, Maurice Cullen, Clarence Gagnon, and others, and is drawn from a host of public and private collections. To accent these works, archival photography and objects of material culture from the period deepen the viewer’s experience of the moment in which the artists were working. The result is an immersive time-travel experience like no other.

🎶✨ What a magical night, Swifties! The Swiftie Social & Skate at the Cobourg Community Centre on Friday was full of Taylor-inspired fun, amazing outfits, and unforgettable moments!

From skating to DJ Joel Wesley spinning Taylor's greatest hits, to Two Blue Shirts Productions' 360° photo booth capturing every angle, it was a night to remember. 🎤💫

A special thank you to Mazdak Leisure & Beachcomber Cobourg for creating an incredible balloon arch and other stunning balloon creations—they added that extra sparkle to the night! 🎈

We loved seeing everyone rock their Eras outfits, create friendship bracelets, and Trivia. 💕 Thank you for making it a "Taylor-made" success!
